Yet another Starlord

I know its being done, and done amazingly by many! but I had to try my hand at a "close enough" Starlord get-up. Nothing is screen accurate, most of the lines aren't super straight, but I'm having a lot of fun and have been so inspired by the RPF lately. Thanks for looking, hope to keep improving on my next projects.

Psst those are rocket boots, definitely not binoculars

Definitely a good start man! You got a base and now you can refine it! If you didn't want to break the bank on the rockets, a small bit of modification with cheap PVC and you could extend the thrusters make them a bit more screen accurate. But you got a great start and it's an amazing budget build!

Thanks for the encouragement! I've flip flopped about a dozen times on this project and almost decided to make something else but I'm glad I stuck with it. More and more I feel like the rockets need some refining, they pretty clearly look like binoculars right now so I may do something about that this afternoon.

Good deal! I've gotten two sets of little toy binoculars from Chick Fil-A kid's meals lately that I'm going to try to make into some kind of passable boot rockets. Since they're smaller I think I can add on some PVC pipe strategically to make them not so obvious. Might be worth looking into if you don't mind a few meals of chicken nuggets.

Well looking at them what you could do is flip them around so the flat part that is currently on the outside mounts to the boot, open up the binoculars on the hinge, and put together the middle portion of the rocket out of foam or even wood with some foam detailing and then paint. Take a look at IronManiac's rockets they're in the first couple posts http://www.therpf.com/f78/gotg-my-own-star-lord-build-dragon-con-pics-post-160-a-216088/

With Halloween rapid approaching, I found a couple pairs at the Dollar Tree.

Well I kind of switched gears with this costume, and decided to personalize a bit and make a hybrid Starlord, I figured people do it with Batman so why not! Anyway I have basically kept the movie colors but added comic style influences which gives me a little bit of that retro-futuristic rocketeer look from the 2008 GOTG run. Sorry about the weirdness of these pics, snapped them myself the best I could late in my garage last night.
