Who is the audience for this? I grew up with that show, and have no interest in seeing it. What would the average 16-year-old idiot think? Why would they care?

So, I wonder who will shack up with Ginger and Mary Ann?? A modern retelling won't be so innocent.
Actually I'm rather surprised they haven't done this one already. Let's see, what hasn't Hollywood rebooted into a movie yet? My Mother the Car (hey, Jerry VanDyke's still alive)? My Three Sons? F-Troop? Hogan's Heroes? I'm Dickens, He's Fenster? (the shows get more un-PC or obscure, or both, as I go)

I don't even think it is proper material for mockery like Brady Bunch was.

Yeah, actually, those are two I wouldn't mind seeing if they did them right. A realistic depiction of WW2 desert and aerial warfare would be cool.

Yeah, are you kidding? They can add some scary beasts on the island or a cannibal tribe, some sexual tension with the girls, the professor can rig up a wifi coconut tree before the big hurricane hits.
Plus, think about how much better the giant spider in the cave is going to look!!
