X-WING & TIE PILOT HELMET progress pics

correct me if im worng here Jez (as you are the man who knows) but the "ears" were sculpted purely for these helmets to cover the join and therefore any originals could only come from a screen used? and if im right there is no way they are "all cast from original" as has been claimed because the ears were not a "found" item.

That is correct - they either come from an original TIE helmet or else they ain't "original". Same with the mohawk.

Cheers

Clarification of what is original would be appropriate. I think it would satisfy pretty much everyone. You don't have to say who provided it, just say which helmet or helmets it originated from. This is just one of those instances where avoidance will be viewed as simply a lie.

You're wasting your time.

Well I know its a really complex question you're being asked; "so is your helmet really a cast off an original TIE?" :rolleyes

Does this make it easier?

Wow, this is a nice show off thread for a clean looking TIE pilot helmet!
You certainly don't see a lot of those!
Looks really great.
I am also looking forward to more of the Rebel helmet pics.

People are SO passionate about these things! I am always impressed when people are able to quote the scene number that a particular helmet (or phaser, or whatever) was used in. I suppose I really just respect expertise, in anything!

I'm loving the look of the featured helmets. Top notch sir.
I do find the whole mud slinging thing a little dull but I also think Gino, not being a fool, would surely have known that his statement would cause a stir from certain camps and that his usual tight lipped retorts would wind them up.

Genius!!

Wow ten pages and you guy's still going on about this. He's NOT going to tell you. Can we move on?

No i know he wont admit to being a liar - yes Gino i am straight out calling you a liar now i wont mess around and mince words.

I know i will get flak for it but lets be honest here you said yourself and i quote "all cast from original" and you yourself have said you didnt cast a TIE so the only conclusion is you lied atleast for some of the parts involved.

Please be honest in future - you are a talented man who should not need to spin a web of lies your fine work speaks for itself and if you do a run people will buy no matter what because of the fine work done, UNLESS its a dreaded re-cast - dum dum dummmmmmmmmmm - this is a joke BTW.

OK i am an idiot when it comes to these helmets and so i have to ask. How is it there is only one Tie helmet and only one ATAT helmet? This sounds like quite an odd thing.

There are i think still a few TIE's around but there were only 2 AT-AT drivers made (they didnt need anymore) one is in the hands of a collector and the other was stolen in a house burgurlary years ago, the full story is on starwarshelmets.com.

I find it very interesting that you (gino) can accuse everyone of recasting and expect them to provide proof but when you are called out you go very quiet and dont post in your own thread, so come on you have said its all cast from original but not TIE so 3 options here, you have access to the only known surviving AT-AT driver helmet or you have or had in your possesion stolen property (the "missing AT-AT") or you have re-cast someone elses work.
As you yourself have said in the past "show proof & your silence only proves your guilt" :love

Is there a decent source for the tuing at the front of the TIE pilot helmet?
I picked one up that is missing the tubing and I'd like to add it.
If it's reasonable, I'd prefer to add something accurate.
Thanks!
