Yeah, I think that's probably plenty as well. You know, last night I was starting to cut out the engine nozzles and it was slow going, then I remembered seeing an upgrade set on Shapeway's , took another look and YES! they're already hollowed out, only 10 bucks, so I ordered some. call me lazy :lol
got 11 FO in the cockpit.
i could do more but dont want to overdo it.

Update.. r2d2's painted and lights work great in r2. He Still needs more weathering but starting to look nice :)

Nice? I'll go one further, it looks fantastic! :thumbsup did you run a red LED to light the R2 or just use red marker to color the end of the FO? I've done that before when I had like only one FO that needed color, just have to hit it with the marker a few times. I did one of these in 1/48 MPC a while back, turned out decent and needless to say was easier to light it.

MPC Xwing1.jpegMPC Xwing2.jpegThis is the MPC 1/48, cake walk compared to this 1/72 we're doing... and of course the MPC quality is for krap. hope you don't mind I posted these on your thread to show you

Sure I don't mind. Post what ever you want..lol.
But I indeed used a marker at the beginning of the FO. That works great I don't want to use a extra led for only one or 2 fibers. In this case for r2d2's mood light it even works better this way then a dedicated red led. There is a slight light shift.
Now I'm working on wetering and then try to get is connected in the main body.

ok cool, I got myself in trouble with another member once. We were working on the same kit and I was showing him what I was doing on his thread and he got upset. I guess he thought I was trying to hijack his thread, which I did need to start my own anyway. I don't mind it either, in fact I invite everyone that wants to participate. To me, that way I can see what the other guys are doing and I pick up good intel and pics of stuff I might not have thought of or see a better way to do what I'm already doing. :thumbsup And I'll be the first to say it, most of these guys are more clever than me anyway :lol

Upset?.. lol.. this is not MY thread. I'm only using up some space to share my Things. I don't feel I own anything here not even this thread...lol I do enjoy if other people enjoy what I do and or share ideas with me. That's all what it is. I don't know any like minded idiots like me in real life ;)

Btw. Are you going to light up r2d2 ?

I'm happy to be crazy :)

truth be told, I finished my star destroyer a few weeks back and there's a couple of other guys who I invited to that thread, who didn't have one of their own, that have carried on during their builds. I'm still watching what they are doing with great interest. I see it as having a lot of good info on one thread for others in the future who search threads for tips and what not. just my thoughts on it.

Damnnn... I just can't let it go for a bit... But finally it's closed!!! And its still working... Pfffff... I had to do so much more trimming... It's just crazy.
But I'm really happy with the result.
I have not put any lights in the back because it would have cost to much effort to get them connected the right way.
The inside dos nooit look very pretty but it's all seald with a transparent fix to prevent shortage. I have to do a lot of paint fixing up and weathering. But it looks like a x-wing :) I so pleased :) yahooooooo :) just happy it did not broke when closing it up (had that before with other models).

Some pictures :)

Looks fantastic, well done my friend!!:thumbsup I hope I get lucky with mine as well, I know what you mean about closing one up, particularly tight fits...I'll be sweating bullets worrying about pinching something off and it not working. had that problem with the AT-AT, but lucky for me it was still a snap close but cumbersome to get everything in there. I pinched a few fibers and had to cut more a re-route, but it worked
