X-Men First Class Fabric

Hey There everyone

I am a bit new to actual costuming but not to sewing and making things, glad to see there is great forum with lots of support

I was looking to see if anyone had found any fabric they thought was suitable for the X-men suits in First Class?

I found a black version here but no blue, I wanted to make a Mystique/girl Magneto suit!

It has some discussion a out the fabric choices in there. I can't remember if a perfect match was ever found though.

It's basically taken from a stoprip design, however, for the film, they actually sewed all those rectangles by hand creating their own version. Check out the thread link above though, there's some good stuff and great pics in there.

For the yellow I used Aida brand cross stitch fabric (18 count) I painted &then hot glued it to a shirt, however for the rest I did a First Class/comic mash up for Logan so I had a bit more freedom to try out a new suit design inspired by the First Class suits

Using Aida is a great idea! I use it for cross stitching all the time and never even thought about using it in clothes!

I'm very interested in how this project goes. And may buy a suit if all goes well. I am just prepping my magneto helmet for casting and would love to see someone from OZ with a great suit
