Wrist Gauntlets - What's the best material?

Wasn't sure whether to post this in here or the Arsenal, but what do people think is the best material for wrist gauntlets? I guess for a static prop display, resin or fiberglass is best, but what about on a costume? Are they usually molded onto the suit itself? Or just latex, and added to the suit somehow?

its easier if its molded right on the suit, but i perfer latex, just in case it does drop, it don't break
