World's First Ghost Rider & Hell Cycle Cosplay [PIC HEAVY]

Hello Everyone,
Well I’ve been a fan of Comics and Comic characters ever since I first saw them on TV. Ghost rider though was on comics for me as a first time and the time I was totally amazed by the very concept of a Super Hero on a Motorcycle. This Character in specific well according to me has the most badass vehicle. A Flaming Chopper! Just for that I always wanted to cosplay as the Ghost rider. Now particularly for cosplaying as the Ghost Rider I also wanted the Hell Cycle as a part of my cosplay. And I feel (just my opinion) it would have been incomplete without the Bike. I saw a lot of Ghost rider cosplayed by people at different Comic Cons I totally loved it.

Now let’s talk about the build,
I had decided to build a non-functioning prop Chopper just for Comic Con which should abid the rules as per the Con. Major part of the Idea was that the bike should not be made out of metal. That was a challenge as it would normally require a metal chassis to begin with even if there are plastic or fiber parts on it. So for this I immediately thought of a solution which was simple PVC pipes. With the Chassis and fork sorted out the rest of the components were easy.
Then I had to short list the different materials which would make a non-metal, non-functioning prop motorcycle to go along with the Ghost rider costume.
-PVC pipes for the Chassis (structural frame),
-Wooden Rims,
-Eva foam for Tires, engine, and tank,
-Fiberglass resin parts for Head light, Ghost rider Skull and any other part if needed.
-And castor wheels.
I wanted to build the bike completely different from the 2007 Ghost Rider movie. So I drew my own concepts which were not very evil-ish looking from the movie one but was in fact much sober.
Here is the Sketch I finalized for building.

The reason I kept a thin gap of ground clearance was because I wanted the entire belly to sit on a plank of wood which would be mounted with the castor wheels. Therefore, leaving about 3 inches of height from the ground. This was important because the wheels were going to made out of foam so in no way they will lift the bikes weight on itself as its not a real one. The idea was to keep both the wheels independent with almost no tension on them. This would also make the bike move back and forth if needed.

I started modeling the Bike by using my sketch as reference.

And I was happy with final result J
For the Headlight I used Dark Siders Death mask.

As it looks almost similar to the Movie Hell Cycle

When the model was complete I imported it in pepakura to check how it looks.

Initial Hell Cycle Specs were –
8 feet length
300mm rear tire and 90mm front.
& about 2.5 feet width.
The biggest problem was that the UPVC pipes used for the frame were bigger in width and because they use joints for connecting pipes it almost stretched the Chassis alone by more than 6 feet!

I also had to rescale the Tires according to the new Chassis width and remap the entire chassis design. This infact made the chopper more longer and much shorter in height causing the Hell cycle to look much much more BADASS!

Here is How the Ghost Rider Skull was made -

Chopper Build:
Now due to practical problems caused by the PVC pipe size there was a little change in the specs,
Hell Cycle length 11 feet 7 inches
Rear tire 430mm \ Front tire 190mm.

Build pics:

For the Wheels the rims were were drawn from hand Mechanical Wood cutter.
Wood material : MDF Board (Saw Dust)

And then there was a very serious problem. The tires were tearing out coz of the pressure. I stuffed enough upholstery foam inside to make them circular in shape. Then I had an idea to cover them using strips of foam which in term looked like tire treads :)

Yes I Hand painted them :p as it was giving good finish also I had to wash my hands later.

None of the picture links are working for me.

All of the pics for the chopper build are just numbers and not links at all.

Could just be me though.

Nothing working for me. I used an E-scooter to build my Antony for my antman cosplay though. Easier and it moved!

PVC pipes altered the designed structure leading the chassis stretch alone by 6+ feet.

The entire Engine and tank were painted with black acrylic, after that it ws simply brushed with silver bronze and gold glitter dust.
And it was looking Hot!

I love the mask, It came out very cool. Nothing but praise man, nothing but praise. Love how the motor looks on the bike, that weathered look. Love the pick of all you guys carrying the bike in.
