World of Warcraft armor build - Need Help!

Hi everyone!

This is my first time posting here, so go easy!

I'm putting together a costume for DragonCon in Atlanta, GA this year. I'm planning to go as my paladin from WoW, dressed in the tier 2 dungeon set, the Judgement armor. The full suit can be seen here:

I'm having the chest, kilt, and helm made for me, as I'm nowhere near good enough with a sewing machine, but I'm going to need to make the shoulderplates myself. I have no experience in crafting props and need help! I'm thinking I should be able to make the plates with attachment points on the shoulders of my chestpiece, or a strap running around my arm, but I'm hoping to get an experienced opinion. What materials are best to use for this, and any tips on crafting the shoulders themselves? I've included some pictures of the shoulderplates for reference.

Thanks so much for any help you can give!

Hiya, and welcome!

I'd probably do them like this -

-with the main straps holding it on, and the bicep strap keeping it in place. You could probably figure out a way to hid the main straps under your chest armor.

BTW you might do a search for "Warhammer purity seals" as it looks like the paladin is wearing much the same things.

Thanks! I'll look into the purity seal angle. I think I've got the concept in my head for putting the librams and swords onto the plates, but my main problem is that I don't know what material to use for the plates themselves, or how to form them properly. Anyone have any insight?
