Wolverine Claws and Jacket

I've done some (a lot) of reading regarding Wolverine's jacket (X-men Origins: Wolverine) and have seen many different options, both good and bad. However, I don't think I've seen anyone mention this version.
X-MEN Wolverine Origins Logan Biker Leather Jacket (All Sizes!) X Men Jacket at discounted prices, this is the best place to buy high quality X-Men Wolverine clothing. - $134.99 : Michael Jackson Celebrity Clothing Superstore , The Biggest and Best M

Also, what about Museum Replica's claws? They look nice, but hard to find at a reasonable price.

I would not go with that jacket, because they are using Heron Origins jacket photos. Unless it was made my Heron I would not go with it. Personally I have a wolverinejackets.com Origins jacket and I like it, but there is no back dip like the screen used jacket. The Vanson X-O jacket is the most accurate and probably the best on the market. I have heard good things from Wested. With jackets is a get what you pay for thing. What is your budget and are you using this jacket for a con or everyday wear?

As for the claws the MR claws look cool and two members on here have posted there sets on the Wolverine all day baby thread. Darkside501st probably makes the best claws for cons. I don't own any Darkside claws, but I have heard great things.

Again, thanks for the info.

I really like the polished look of the museum replica claws, and since it will be on a static display I'm not worried about them being sharp.

To let the cat out of the bag, I'm having a life like, silicone, Hugh Jackman Wolverine done for me by a professional in the business out in LA. I won't skimp on the wardrobe but want to research as many options as I can.

Vanson makes the best and most SA X-O jacket, but there are cheaper options like wolverinejackets.com and Wested like I mentioned earlier. It really just depends on how much you want to spend, but in general the cheaper you go the less SA it is.

Honestly having a life size Wolverine statue sounds awesome! Please post photos. Anyway, a user on here posted a nice looking X-O jacket on the Wolverine all day baby... thread page 164, so there is another option. If I was you I would stay away from Heron (the company that made the jacket that is at least pictured in the link), because their Origins jacket is less SA than some of the other options, but Heron makes a good product from what I have heard, they are just less screen accurate.

I would say the biggest challenge with this project would be finding a button up shirt like he wore in Origins. As a Wolverine nut, I have looked for a shirt similar to want he wore. I eventually just found a dark plain red shirt and used that. The screen used shirt had a cool pattern on it. Also it is important to note that he wears two shirt with his jacket in Origins.

Thanks again for all your help!

My biggest concern will be (obviously) his head and claws. Most people that will see him won't know if he is supposed to wear a leather jacket or a plaid suit, but I still want it to look right. I don't expect to have it done and back to me until early fall or so. He will be greeting customers in a comic shop I'm opening next year, along with an Adam West Batman and some other great props, both old school and modern.

Great point, the general public doesn't notice those things. I forget that too often. haha

Have you thought about dressing him like this?

So you will only have to worry about the tank top, dog tags, boots, belt, and belt buckle.

I can't, he won't have visible arms, just hands. The viewing area will stop around the start of his tank top. I'm just having the head/neck/clavicle area done.

That version (pic) was the inspiration, done by madame tussauds. However, it's done in wax, not silicone, but looks great! I'm not in love with the way they did his hair or lack of arm hair though.

Okay, I apologize I didn't realize. I like the wax figure as well, but agree with you on the issues with it.

No need to apologize! I was also offered a copy/cast of Jackman's actual hands from the studio, but the cost of his head alone is killing me.:lol
I could see that being expensive and that is cool that they are offering actual casts.
