Wolf mask, Completed !

He looks mean. I love it. Not a fan of how the actual Wolf's mouth looks eight times bigger than his head. It looks like you used regular pred proportions on this guy. He looks great Lee, keep it up.

aahh o_O

im using chavant medium oil based clay, does the water thing still work for photos?

ill have to get some wooden balls me thinks

and tbh im not overly fussed aout making him totally/perfectly symetrical anyway, ever photoshopped ya own face then mirrord the left or right ? makes ya look weird o_O hehe

Ive never used chavant medium oil based clay, but from what i hear its simular to the oil clay I have used, ive used a heatgun Carefully to sofen the clay to help get it smoother,,funny cause now I mostly used water clay Id the headgun is for the oposite reason to create details...lol

Sculpts looking good man,,and saying you dont have enough talent to do it the same is a copout, you have it obviously or you wouldent be this far already,,its just practice and experimenting, and time, if you dont quit you can only get better. and if you compare yourself with others, it will only limit your abilities and your drive to be creative.

Some yoda crap for ya...LOL

maverick118 howz it going man, long tme to talk...

Pete

This is looking good. I was going to have a go at this myself at some point but I may sit back and let you guys run with it , plus I have a ton of ohter stuff to do....Lee one suggestion, when you come to do the burn, get as much refernce material not just on the pred but on burns in general especially chemical burns and the scars produced as it'll be a lot easier to do the scarring with that to work from as well as the Wolf pics.

Hey Pete, yeah long time, and lots has gone on since we last chatted...Doing the same stuff, but this time with different production comapnies as well as my own little one that's starting in the new year....Working on some old age make up for a sitcom that's in production and doing tons of Union work too...Caught your monsters on Trenches though, bitchin' man bitchin'

Anyway back to Lee's thread...

**** feel free to talk o_O

loving all the advice btw, tryin to soak it all up.

I only said i didnt know if i could do it ,YODA , because im new to this sculpting malarky , im enjoyin it and after this i wanna get away from preds but im tempted to try a P2, even though im not as fond of him as P1.
Ive had some greatadvice this time around from alot of people, and hopefully i can continue to improve, and STILL i hope you will give advice.

Looking at the side show pics, i was thinking of making up most of the scaring/burns etc from worms of clay. that though will possibly be the very last thing i do , i figure some time this week i should have all the basci shapes done, so i can start detailing the bits im happy with.

then once that is done ill start the scaring, looking forward to it though, shame i gota go to work again now o_O

looks like hes got pecs and abs on his forehead

Is that another dig at me? someone elses thred, now mine.

dont bother pm'ing me for help again.

After watchin the "1st 5 mins of AVP-r " video dan was kind enough to post, about 15 times !! hehe.

ive decided to stick a knife in wolfy tomorrow and change to closed mandilbes, not sure if this is a good idea or not. any thoughts?

Im off to bed now, then tomorrow he gets a face lift.

chrz.

Closed mouth might be great, if I remember correctly, the other sculpts are open mouthed as well? This would be a great way to make it unique.

Mav, I havent started detailing yet, if it looks like i have then its odd, as all im doing is laying down the larger shapes.

Whoracle, his eye is not bulging, the eyes are exactly the same shape/size and depth as each other, just one side has had very little work on it , and in that picture has no eyelid :)

Chris, the photo isnt perfectly straight , and your vertical line isnt straight because of the picture being not straight hehe, i have only done a minimal amount of work on the right side ( looking at it ) so its possibly a mix of things hehe. i think i must have fixed it slightly as looking at the sculpt behind me it doesnt look out of line, but i did do some work on his nose yesterday before work, along with chin and right lower mandible.

keep the inpuit coming though it ALL helps and is appreciated

Btw he has eyelids on both sides now along with a few other tweaks

well one eye SHOULD be bulging, cause it looks freakin awesome that way

And I still vote closed mouth, again.

Looking really good so far man!I think mask looks better without having the mouth so wide open like the statue version.
Very impressed with the results.

Well i personally dont think his eye is bulging so wont be sculpting it that way :) hehe. its just scaring and deformities i recon.

anyway, gonna fuel up on coffee then start cutting his cheaks off sad but also excited.

Here goes, well seems today has been one step forward after taking 3 back hehe.

coffee+wifes hairdryer+MTV in background = 4hrs off messing about shouting BOLLOCKS, then tryng again.
in the end i cut off his lower jaws and did the following.

lifted inner jaw by approx 1 inch
Reangled the upper mandible so it slopes down more.
Removed lower mandible/cheak , reshaped and redetailed inside that was not salvaged.

his left side only had the mandible reangled, and as ive done very little to it, it looks way out in the head on shot. ( it will be fixed )
i added some rough teeth and rough lower tooth mandible just so i could see roughly how it all lined up, these have now been taken off again as i prepare to start working on his right side and the inner mouth scaring.

I cant find any FILM pics of his mouth closed so im kinda making this up as i go.

AGAIN here i say a big thanks to RUFFKIN and FARSCAPE1 for their idea of sculpting him partially closed and adding a wire armature after hes been made into masks.

anyway do you guys think this looks better now? and have i closed it up enough?

thanks as always.
Lee.
