WIP, Winter Soldier, new movie or classic comic? Which one do ya'll think is coolest?

So I'm starting to work on my winter soldier cosplay for comic-con and I think I've gotten over the biggest obstacle the cybernetic Arm. Im going to have it airbrushed on lycra or spandex by Grifters Custom Creations. But now I need to decide whether to go with the classic comic book look or the mock up from the Cap 2 movie..... who wants to chime in.



Finally any idea's on how to make a light shield that won't get destroyed on a plane?

Is this for San Diego Comic-Con? If so, since it's rumored that CA:WS will be there, I'd go with the movie version.

I'm starting the same project. I'm actually going with a bit of combination between the two and maybe a little bit of creativity. Good luck with your build!

Thanks yeah it is for SDCC I was leaning torwards the movie version. Figured I could just take the mask off. How are you tackling the arm?

K just a quic update So while waiting for my cybernetic arm to be finished i went ahead and started getting the rest of the gear together. Looks like Im going with the new movie version. First the tactical goggles from Bencore Next up is the Matrix metal mesh half mask The Black Hawk load baring harness And finally some tactical pants I'll take a pic with it mostly together once I get the tactical shirt.

Thats the biggest issue right now but I thinking I may use thin styrene in strips.

Not a bad Idea, lemme know how it goes, I'm trying the airbrushed route but eventually I wanna go more detailed and cybernetic. Here's a pattern I found online, maybe you can make it work

I'm new to Winter Soldier but he has a place in my heart now. I can't wait to see how the arm comes together!

I'm still gathering the parts for the suit itself, but the arm is giving me fits. I like all your chosen gear and in a little bit I'm going to do a mass order. Last year's con I went as CA:TFA with the suit coming from UD Replicas. I got an airsoft shield too.

If you want a decent, lightweight shield I'd definitely go for the airsoft shield. They take a bit of work to get a good paint job (I'm in the middle of that process now) and you have to have some way to engrave the star, but it's a great shield and not too heavy while still being real sturdy.

I'm not fully up to speed on Winter Soldier's antics in the comics, but does he indeed carry cap's shield or is it just some fan art I came across from the Internet. One thing I wouldn't want to do is a shield faux-pas.

Well he did not carry the shield as The Winter Soldier but he did carry the shield when he stepped into the mantle of Captain America when Steve Rogers "died"

Thanks, I am definitely leaving the shield at home (kinda odd to not be at con without her) and bringing a big ol' approved-by-guards-at-the-front-door-only-if-the-tip-is-clearly-marked-by-orange-paint plastic gun with me.

It's not movie it's the comics. He takes over the mantle when cap dies after civil war. Just kinda a nod to the classic
