WIP My Lifesize Freddy Krueger

Hey,

I thought i'd start my thread on the Life Size Freddy Krueger that i'm about to tackle, not to the liking of the Missus but hey.....lol

So this is going to take a while so be patient but i will get there eventually and i will update the thread with photo's every time i make any progress. So....i bought the Mannequin a few weeks back now and this photo is the first time it's actually been all put together -

it stands a bit tall so i will need to trim the legs down a touch, the Torso seems about the right length, he just has longs legs at the moment (compared to me anyway) and i will also change the right legs position slightly. I will be leaving the left arm as it is apart from the hand which detaches, i plan on casting my own hand in a more natural position so it looks more realistic, i also plan to do my right hand as well for the glove.
The right arm i'm planning the biggest change, i want the glove to come up towards the face so that will mean cutting and then reattaching the arm in three places, iv'e got ideas on how i'm going to do this so i just hope my ideas have no dramas and it allgoes to plan. And lastly i may have to make the head smaller as it measures 24inches and mine is 22.5, so i will see when i get the mask.

Yes the mask, i plan on displaying the Part 3 from James on it once he's done mine, totally the best silicone mask's out there all done by himself, they have great movement once on and he's just started shipping these new Part 3 one's out, iv'e asked for this paint up on mine so i can't wait to get it -

and i already have a hat that i bought and weathered up that i did last week, but i did this in the style of a part 2 as i really like the look of it with the holes in it -

I plan on getting one of M.Olschewski Sweaters at some point, for anyone who's never heard of her she knits handmade quality sweaters made to measure and they are screen accurate to whatever part you want.

So far iv'e bee tackling the right Arm, it took a bit longer than i thought but its bent to shape now and looking much better on the mannequin i reckon. I had to cut the arm around the bicep area and then twist it, i then took a chunk out of the elbow area as shown -
IMG_7766.JPGIMG_7774.JPGIMG_7773.JPG
I just quickly sanded down around the elbow area and just taped it up for now, once i get the epoxy and fiberglass cloth i will be able to tidy it up a bit more, even though i could leave it as it is because it's secure now, i'd rather add a bit more strength and get a slightly better finish to it.

Anyway as you can see the arm is in a better position now, don't worry about the sweater in the photo, it's just a cheap one i plan to use as practice for weathering for when i get my one from the woman in Germany, i thought i'd just stick it on for show.

Done a bit more today mainly on the right leg, it's not as bent as it was before and it also made the overall leg shorter which i wanted, and the overall height of the mannequin is about the same height as me now, which is good.
IMG_7782.JPGIMG_7784.JPG
I also took a chunk out of the left leg to make make it move out a little, i actually took a little more out of it after i took this photo, iv'e also got to shorten the lower leg so i thought the best place to do that was around the ankle, hence.....minus the foot.
IMG_7785.JPG
So here's a some photo's of the new straighter leg and a photo of how it stands now compared to before, as you can see the legs are spread more than it used to be.
IMG_7787.JPGIMG_7788.JPGIMG_7786.JPGbeforeIMG_7752.JPG
Everything needs fibreglass sheets and epoxy on it yet to add strength and i'll sort out the foot next, i also plan to cast my hand for the left hand for more realism, and i'm unsure whether to cast a pose of my right hand for the glove or make something up?

I'm also working on some new templates to make a glove similar to a Part 1, and that's all for now i can't do much with the head until James has finished my mask then i'll know how it sits and if i need to alter it.

More soon.

Very cool. I will be checking this thread to see how it comes along.
I wish I had the space for a 1:1 figure in my house but I think the worst part about it would be keeping it clean and dusted constantly.
Will you be making a whole display with some rusty pipes or furnace face behind him?

Thanks mate, no i'm just doing the Lifesize, nothing fancy around it, i was thinking of putting some kind of light pointing upwards from the feet so it catches the shadows at night, maybe a red i'm not sure yet though, i'm also busy making new templates and a new glove, but tomorrow i'll sort the left foot out so it stands up properly again.

Not much to look at but i wasn't happy with the right arm so i brought it closer to the chest, and also added a bit of fiberglass filler to the places where i cut the thing in half, needs sanding down then i will just wrap it in white duct tape, it's not like your going to see it anyway ;) and i reattached the foot.

Really looking forward to seeing more of this Dayle :)
Your mask arrived yet mate ?

No mask yet, hopefully James will get back to me as i posted a message on his Facebook Wall.

I also made this up, just need to solder the letters on and attach it to a piece of wood.

I've been adding a bit more strength to the parts i cut today with fiberglass filler, i was also working on the hand that will hold the glove but didn't take any photo's of it so will do that tomorrow as it still needs work doing on it.

My sweater from Margret is on it's way so will have to get some Pants and Shoes, still need to sort out the left hand yet.

More soon.

Well i did this to the right hand but not happy with it at all, i need the fingers to be detachable because the pose i want on the glove won't allow fixed fingers, i'd never get the glove on, i may use the same idea for the fingers as they would work ok but i will have to see, i'm now going to try and use the left hand and modify that, sound strange but i've had a look and i think i can make it work, if that fails then i will have to make something up myself.

The thumb on this was actually the pointer finger that i reattached.

Got my Part 2 sweater last week from Margret in Germany last week, hand knitted and a custom fit to my exact size, the quality is top notch and it fits perfect, also it's screen accurate to any movie you want, anyway i will weather it up once i have finished everything else.

Ok, about time for some updates me thinks, first up i weathered the sweater, got some pants that still need some weathering and started on the hand for the glove, it still needs finishing as its not properly secure, but it's on for the time being. I also bought a Polystyrene head for $4, it was a little too big but a quick fix sorted that out, i have since sealed the cuts and have started work on the eye's, i have some acrylic one's i will be using, the neck on the mannequin still needs finishing off as theres just a big hole in it at the moment.
I also bought a silicone left hand from Brian wfx, its very nice and i just need to make something up for underneath it so i can pose the fingers better.

So here you go, pretty big update as far as photo's go.....stay tuned.............I'll be back!

Why not use a severed hand (from a halloween store), make an armature out of a metal hanger and fill the inside with some kind of foam......

Cheap, easy and very effective.....

My silicone left hand will and does look more realistic than a cheap severed hand, that's why I'm using it, I was going to get a resin hand but now I have this, it's just as good.

i meant for the gloved hand..... so the glove is poseable

Oh ok ;) the way I have the glove on it now is the way it will be, I'm pretty sure the severed hand wouldn't stay in the shape I want it to especially the pinky finger as it's really bent inwards, plus the way the glove is positioned you can't really see the fingers or palm, if what I'm doing doesn't look right then I will look at other options but I think I should be ok once I have done what is needed.
