Willow D+ Series

I’m officially out after the prior episode (Episode 3).

If I want to watch something that is a prime example of “things that suck on so many levels”, I know where to find it.

Disappointed but not surprised about reactions to this, what a waste to get cast members back and not use the opportunity to do something special.
Why do studios keep doing this? Because people my age can't accept that the past is the past, there's an insistence that everything "back in MY day" was great. We are the generation with the most disposable income at the moment which makes us a target audience for studios to shoot in the nostalgia sack, that sack leaks money when shot enough.
Over the last few years I've realized that most (not all) of the entertainment I grew up with in the 70s/80s was at best a "product of it's time" and at worst just crap.
I haven't watched the original Willow in 15 years or so, I might suggest it to my daughter for one of our reviews (she loved it when she was 5), I'm willing to bet it holds up, that doesn't mean it needs another chapter decades later.

While I do wholeheartedly agree with how bad this show is, I will admit I got a chuckle out of the part where Willow is using the flamethrower wand. Dude says "What the hell is that?" and Willow snaps back "Don't worry about it!"

I don't know why but I had to rewind and watch that part three times!

I keep on hoping every episode that the series will kick of and be a cool Willow sequel. My mind goes : Its Willow!! yaay!......but so much stuff happens that is...wrong or strange. The latest episode with the browies : Yaay Rool is back, But his daughter is wearing a modern onesie and what looks like a 80s Band tshirt. I´m hoping it will be better but then again i have seen even crappier series and movies before so i guess i just will enjoy the ride.

This show has to be the strangest show for me. When I think about it, I think it’s just bad. Nothing about it sticks out as particularly good to me.

But…

…whenever it’s on, I simply can’t stop watching it as in the moment it seems to do a good job of entertaining me.

I’ve gotten to a point these days where if a show isn’t doing it for me, I usually just stop watching. I feel like I shouldn’t be watching this, but when it’s actually on, I really don’t mind it at all.

I doubt that makes any sense, but it’s the best way I can describe my thoughts on this particular series.

Kinda watching on auto now, or in hopeful mode. Not terrible, but not particularly good.

A subtitle in ep6 said "Willow theme plays" but it was actually Madmartigan's.

It's kind of like watching a car wreck at this point - Dialogue, Music Choices... Ughh
Beach Boys? Really? I love the Beach Boys but C'Mon Man!
I'd love to buy Warwick Davis a few drinks and get his real feelings about this besides the warm feeling of cashing a paycheck!

I'm reminded of the first couple seasons of Discovery (the only ones I watched) where there would be scene after scene of characters spilling their guts out, to the point that the main thrust of the plot is put aside for ages.

Willow ep 7 was like that. Except they were better executed than in Discovery, and I actually cared (unlike Discovery). They were well written and performed, but it's just there were SO MANY OF THEM. I felt like I was watching a casting agent's reel of actor audition monologues.

Beautiful cinematography in this one.

This latest episode has some of the most blatant Volume use ive seen yet. Just a water base and sky background with super visible end point.

I keep seeing Erin Kellyman pop up in genre pieces I that I like, but there is just something about her that doesn't seem to work for any of the roles she's given. This is another example. She's just not a compelling actor. I don't get the appeal. Put her in the Jared Leto category of being repeatedly cast for no apparent reason.

So two more seasons of this apparantly? I just watched 1883 and the difference in the writing is breathtaking. It's like a group of stoned teenagers are writing this mess. Couldn't they get just one adult working on this?

MONEY FOR NOTHING??!?!?!?!1??!

Chosen simply because one lyric ties to their line of "I want you". Its like they have an AI choosing songs based on the lines characters say, not if it goes with the scene or tone, simply connecting words.

I just finished it and I feel that my previous comment still stands for me.

This is bad…but for some reason, while watching I was really entertained.

Bad writing. Bad story. Bad plot.

But I kept watching..,and I’ll watch more if they make more.
