Willie Scott Bridge outfit / bead research

The Pembarthi looks to apply to larger pieces, at least from what photos I could find online. I suppose the question is, are there any pembarthi jewelry? The smallest I found that they made was a locket. The stuff we're looking at seems to be something more a jeweler would more or less make, and these things are way more rough than what pembarthi works turn up I'm finding, and I don't know if jewelers would produce something as kind of shoddy as these links and be happy if it were they offered. I've read a jeweler was responsible for making the original Staff of Ra Headpiece for Raiders.

The question I'm wondering now is this a production-made piece or something vintage and repurposed for costumery?

This must have been pretty cheaply and quickly produced - the punching on the original is really rough. it looks like a "pancake mold" or some sort of punch mold and then it was stamped - I 100000% believe they just bought this at a random market since it it nothing "special" in the space of tribal belts, but the design itself is weirdly unique. I wonder if Magnoli Props would have any thoughts?

I had thought it would be punched out like the coin blanks first and then, after producing a bunch, handed to a crew of impressionists with the stamping dies but some of the internal design does not line up with the outer shape of the final piece and certainly not in a consistant way. So it has the feel of a large sheet being dragged along by one person, under a repeating die (run by rotary like a cycle or foot pedal) and when done they hand the whole sheet to the punch bench guy. That person tries to align each impressioned image centered under the cutting punch. After all these are gathered from the bucket below, they are given to a crew of "finishers" who tool in the little front to back details like the little ball inside the flowers. It is the only way I can see some of the much larger errors happening. I can't fathom a way of getting half the internal design cut lengthwise because it was so misaligned after having coin sized blanks already cut out.
 
Sorry, nothing to add, but I agree that these were most likely sourced, not scratch made. Do keep in mind that a lot of the Indy props and costumes were repurposed from previous productions, so sometimes you find the answer in the least likely of places.

Totally. I bet it was just cut out like a coin and then the internal design was one thing.

If you have any thoughts on how you would personally go about re-creating this we are all ears. Finding existing ones seems rather fruitless at this point.
 
If i were head to head with this task, I would sculpt one and then make a cement or hard plaster tap and die set of of that. Using the forming sheet plastic, I would head my tap and the die and press my own. They would be far easier to trim up and drill the connection holes. I made a set of these to put an imprint in my Will Turner tortoise belt. You could even use a regular paper/leather squeeze punch for the holes. Then spray paint all pieces brass.

A laser cutter could cut a huge batch ready made for putting in that heat press system and would already have the holes.

I picked a bolt that was the correct thread for my soldering gun and then cast my mould pattern onto the bolt so it could then attach to the heat. I made about 20 impressions but broke it because I pushed at an angle. Then I went industrial...

I'd make a master (whatever your preferred sculpting material is) then get a metal caster to make a mold and cast them up for you. There are enough of them in the outfit to make it worth doing properly.
 
So quick question how would one go about manufacturing multiples of these without me having to cast these? If I make an STL is there some sort of company that can rapid make these in metal?
 
I printed this on my ender 3 neo. I am a complete newb at printing. It was polished smooth, no lines at all. I just set it to super fine quality at .12 mm pass height. I did have ironing turned on .

That looks awesome!!!! My Creality Cr-10 looks like crap compared to that!


Here is a slight update to the STL. Made it thicker for printing and added some of the texture to the triangle and added a few other things to make it more accurate.

This is starting to remind me of my Jack Sparrow days. This is getting stupid.
