Where did the Halloween mask really come from? Me and a couple of buddies always get in to it about how they came across the mask to used in the mask for the Halloween movies. I say it came for the movie Devil's Rain. My buddies say it was a stunt mask for the star trek show.

What's your opinion?

It's simple. It was a licensed "Captain Kirk" mask.

Carpenter was deciding between that mask and a clown mask. He chose the Kirk mask because it looked so "normal and nondescript".

There, that ends your debate. :lol

Yes, it's really that simple. Here is a picture of an original unaltered mask from 1975:

Yep... They just cut the eyes to change the look a little and sprayed it white. Done :lol

Yeah, the choice all came down to those two masks at a hardware store. The 1975 Kirk's eyes were cut and spray painted, and that's all they did to it. The other mask was an Emett Kelly clown mask, this one to be exact;

:lol Wrong! :lol

Had to take up his slack as he posted it was a "Licensed" mask not giving props to "Who" Licensed it.

Cmon now get it right you slackers! ;) :lol

:lol ok... Got me on a technicality :lol
But I believe only DP had the rights to the Kirk likeness in a mask back then, so it sort of went without saying when he put "licensed" in the description :lol
