I have received requests for some shoots of this wonderful item.

History: I was wanting to build this prop to complete a Arliss Loveless cosplay. After months of looking for info going over the DVD trying to figure out dimensions and what I would need to start this project. Then by change while googling images I stumbled on an image that linked back to the Volo Car Museam. looked like they had the chair on display. in the corner of the ad it said "Call Now". So, I called. Got a hold of a gentleman who said he would chat with the owner, because he didn't think it was for sale as it was a display. 30 min lator he called back and was willing to sell. It just happened they had a crate builder onsite and ship cars all over the place. One week lator a very heavy crate showed up. When I popped the lid off I was expecting to find that I had bought some cheap build item... boy was I wrong! All brass, Iron, and Aluminum.

The Invacare MKIV RII wheelchair controller is the heart of the chair. I estimate the chair is around 200lb and I am about 210lb... it moves fairly fast as seen here. Dr. Arliss Loveless CCEE 2011 - Cosplay - YouTube

Here are a couple shots of how you get in this thing. The Belt is hooked to the top plate that locks in with magnets. the front just pops out with a couple door hinge brackets. So you get in the top plate belt and tie it up in the back. Then once sitting on a 2 inch seat kneeling you slide in the front box plate, drop the pins in the corners and lock in the top plate into position.

Here are some shots of the back controls that are under the back bottom edge.

To the far right there is a variable control for the speed of the governor
on/off for smoke machine.
on/off for the governor.
on/off for the controller.
and finally a Variable Speed Controller

The Battery in the back runs the Smoke timer and Governor 12V DC.

Batterys for the Wheelchair motors run at 24V

Smoke machine itself runs of the 24V DC to an Inverter that sits between your knees to 110AC.

Hahaha that's pretty cool! I thought Kenneth Branagh's completely over the top performance was the best thing about that film. I remember it fondly......
