WILCO props.. any good?

what kind of quality are WILCO resin kits? them seem quite affordable on the official ebay site, but what is RPF's opinion of them?

my big complaint with him has always been time... i've gotten a few things from him. quality has been fine, but he's taken a LOT longer to ship than he ever estimates.

I've never received one from him that wasn't a great cast. Clean and needing very little clean-up. His only downfall is his delivery times. One time if might be quick, the next it might be slow. He even forgot he had already sent me a kit I ordered and I received another about a week later. I contacted him about returning the 2nd kit and he said don't worry about it, just keep it. I personally wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again and plan to at some point.

I have two of his pistol kits. Mal's from Firefly, and Ronan's from SG: Atlantis. Only delay in shipping I ever got was with the Firefly pistol. It took him about a week to get it in the mail after I ordered it. I sent him a letter, only asking when he thought he'd get it in the mail, not being a dick about it or anything. And I get a responce letting me know he had to go out of town unexpectedly do to a death. I respond with my condolences, and explain i didn't care, just wanted to know what was up. When I got the model, inside was a note expressing his sincere appologies for the delay, and the Serenity grenade and communicator in it as well for free. He's very very customer oriented. A great great seller that does amazing work.

I ordered one piece from him, and I really wish I could say I had a similar experience to those above, but I didn't. It wasn't a huge deal, but mine took between 4 and 5 weeks to ship and the cast was far from good. It looked like a really rushed job, FULL of air holes, and required a lot of clean up and modifying even to get it to fit together.

I wasn't really upset, it was my first resin kit build and it gave me something to do, but after reading so many high praises from different people, I am a little bummed I didn't receive something of higher quality. Especially for what I paid, and the waiting time.

I will add that he was always pleasant in our email exchanges, and I have been considering trying another one of his kits FWIW.....

Totally agree! I have ordered several kits from him (11) and they were not too bad. He kind of warns you about shipping but sometimes it can be quite a wait. I understand his wife is ill and thats takes up a big chunk of his time as it should. He always follows through and he is a good guy to deal with.

Hey guys,
My 2 cents worth is this; I have purchased from him in the past and will again. He has always sent good casts and even a few freebies now and then when shipping was delayed. I have never been disappointed.
As far as his shipping delays, his wife has been VERY ill and that has taken up most of his time.
My last order ( a bladerunner pistol) took a month to ship, but he was very good about communication and when it arrived it was perfect.

Keep in mind, sometimes if a cast doesn't come out the way he likes, or is substandard, he does a whole new cast for you. Which takes time. He's very good about quality.
