Thats actually the exact reason to worry. There were quite a few people that didnt like the movie although JGL was great in it. The problem is besides Marc Webb making 3 doors down videos as his claim to fame, he has zero experience in directing any type of action movie.

Im going to go into it with an open mind but, hell Im awesome but that doesnt mean I should direct movies

I don't see any reason to get excited about his directing. He's mainly a music video and TV series director and 500 Days of Summer is a quirky romantic comedy.

I hope it's a good movie but I will wait and see before coming to any conclusions.

It's not to bash 500 Days of Summer which I'm sure is a great movie but he's directed ONE movie. That doesn't make him a BAD director, it just makes him an unknown quantity.

If you mean it tongue-in-cheek, I'm all for good-spirited discussion. If you mean it seriously... Um, really? When a "proven" director can make a flop a new one can't? Spielberg directed Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull for Heaven's sake...

No. Actually I would prefer they stop over saturating movie theaters with comic book related movies for awhile and try something different.

Yeah I was trying to forget about those. But that's a good point that you can't always say a film is going to be great based on the directors previous film or films.
