Hey all-

For my next project I'm thinking about a chess set based on the Who Framed Roger Rabbit characters.

I want to stay with the toons for the pieces, so no Eddie Valiant. I'm on the fence on using Judge Doom.

Here's my current thinking:

  • Roger Rabbit - King
  • Jessica Rabbit - Queen
  • Baby Herman -Bishop
  • Benny the Cab - Rook
  • Judge Doom -Knight
  • Toon shoe - Pawn(?)
  • Barrel of Dip - Pawn(?)

Color scheme for the two sides could brass and silver.

Haven't figured out if I'm going to make a custom board or recycle an existing one.

What do you guys think? -all suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Great idea for a project.

I would do 2 different sides. One side being the good toons and one being the villians.

Good:

King- Roger
Queen- Jessica
bishop - Baby
Knight- Gorilla bouncer
Rook- Benny
pawns- Eddies toon gun / just one of the bullets or singing sword

bad:

King - Judge ( can be in toon form with crazy eyes)
Queen- mistaken Jessica ( crazy crack head looking one in toon town)
Bishop- sharp dress leader of the weasels
Knight- Straight jacket weasel
Rook- bat carry pin wheel hat weasel
Pawn- the dip barrel

well that’s an idea for you. Good luck

I think you should have the Bullets as goodie pawns, may need to double up on a couple but it would look cool. and Weasels as baddie pawns.

Or so each sides pawns look the same, group the Bullets together on each goodie pawn and do the same for the Weasels for the baddies.
