I've been lurking around and wanted to share a build thread, but there are so many Iron Man threads already. So I will go ahead and keep that one out of sight and I will post this White Tiger Ranger (Kibaranger) build instead.

I'm starting with a Pepakura helmet (and I believe this is an Eye of Sauron file). This is modeled after the movie version so pairing this with the right suit will be interesting. I already sprayed this with some primer the reason it looked a little too white.

And I can't start with this project without these. The only body filler that I use and trust for my projects.

You'll have to forgive me, but I can't help but think of Charlie Sheen as the White Ranger with a title like that, haha! "It's winning time! Tigerblood!"

Re: Tigerblood White (Tiger) Ranger Build Thread.

with the looks of that awesome Iron man Helmet on the left, I'm pretty sure this is going to be real good.

And to the fact that "Rondo" is as toxic as smoking 2 cartons of cigarettes in one day, the auto body supply place filled this Powerade bottle with the product called Plastik Honey (also by Evercoat). I will be using this to thin out my body filler instead to make my slushy body filler to initially harden the helmet. I usually add talc in my resin or micro-balloons to make "rondo".

Oh thanks man. And I will eventually finish that Iron man helmet (been WIP for a year now, LoL).

Re: Tigerblood White (Tiger) Ranger Build Thread.

Found some references on Google.
This one I'm building is a movie version so here are some movie version helmet pics.

Re: Tigerblood White (Tiger) Ranger Build Thread.

So clean. I had so much trouble applying bondo to my helmet! Looks like a good start!

Re: Tigerblood White (Tiger) Ranger Build Thread.

I took the sunday off from working on this, but I got something to share with you guys. My friend dropped this off today, body filler with fiberglass strands already mixed in it. This is popularly known as "Kitty hair" in the automotive and marine industry. I haven't used this in any of my Pepakura projects, but I know some of you "rondo" guys would love this.

Thanks :) I've been working with cars before so I'm pretty good with the body filler part. But as of having patience of putting a pep together, I don't have it, LoL. Plus using premium body filler makes things easier.

Looking forward to more posts! I have been messing with bondo/rondo and various other fillers in an attempt to get the best finish..Have settled on the rondo for now, but I am ready to learn more!
I will have to go looking for autobody supply stores here in Orlando!
Thanks for the tips and info! I am very eager to try them out!

YW. Don't hesitate to ask questions. :)

I didn't do too much in the past couple of days 'cause I'm working on the rest of the movie style costume, but I just wanna post a pic of my favorite tool: the Rasping tool.

I have always wanted a white ranger costume.......This helmet looks like it will be amazing

Can't wait to see progress on this

P.s - I know you said that you are keeping the iron man helmet out of this (I can see it) but it looks awesome too :)

I meant keeping my whole Iron Man suit from posting it in the forum. I'll bring it to light once it's 100% done. It will be crazy 'cause the pieces tightens up together with Flexinol Actuator wires so it eliminates the use of velcro or screws.

hey man can you give me some information about adding talc into resin. iv never heard of this method before. i know people add microbaloons to thicken there resin to make a gel coat when casting but what does talc do and do you mean talc the white power used on babies ? is there an online tutorial you can like me to. iv just made my first ever proper helmet its a green ranger and i want to mould it and cast it im trying to get info on this whole process. oh and whyle im asking can you add a few layers of resin and then rondo the inside of a cast to add thickness and layers ?

You just add talc depending on how viscous you want your resin.
You can get talc from any fiberglass supply place. I used to buy it for $6 for a 5 lbs. bag. I use micro-balloons depending on the project. There's also Cabosil/Aerosil that I've seen at the shop for like $30 for a 5 lbs. bag so I'll probably buy a small portion and test it out.

You can add layers of resin in a cast for thinkness, but I'll make sure to use laminating resin aka Surfboard resin.

i bes in northern ireland we not big on fiberglass suppliers im lucky theres a garage near where i live that customes cars they stock the fiberglass resin but not matt or cloth its hard for me to source things with out paying a fortune in postage thats why i was hoping it was baby powder lol

When using "Kitty hair" make sure you get the "short strand".

Also... that stuff gets hard as a rock really fast so I recommend only using it to reinforce edges and tips if you hate sanding, spreading it with your fingers in small areas is a life saver.
