wooh...

expensive... but NICE.

what is the lineage to this guys stuff?

that helmet looks an aweful lot like a MH...

but that goes along the lines of the discusion gigatron was trying to have the other day... :unsure

cause the MH, looks screen used... and so does this...

or is it just that it IS a MH...

hmm...

Hey.

Well his claims are that everything he sells has been 100% sculpted by him, and I believe that is true, for everything but his helmet. There have been many (flame-ridden) discussions about this over at TDH.

His story is that he developed a fancy technique for "digital-overlays" to get his sculpt pretty much exact to photos of the original ESB helmet that was on display at the AOSW. The only problem is that he sculpted in all the incorrect features of the Mystery Helmet, that are not found on the screen used helmet. The other part of the deal is that he had purchased a Marrow Sun 1 helmet, a legitimately produced helmet sourced from the Mystery Helmet, not long before he presented his sculpt to the world. When he was questioned about the similarities of his sculpt to the Marrow Sun 1/Mystery Helmet, he said that he used it as a reference when sculpting his own. For some people, that is good enough, for others, it isn't. He has since altered his sculpt to eliminate those incorrect features found on the Mystery Helmet.

Anyway, the things that are unique about the helmet he produces are the wavy brow (although some would say it is too wavy) and a rather overly chiseled dent. Apparently the Bobamaker helmet is ever-so-slightly smaller than the Marrow Sun, but the overall shape is pretty much the same.

So there you have it. That's a brief over-view of the rather unclear history of this particular bucket. Take from it what you will and make your own conclusions.

All the best,

MJC.

franz when you say its smaller than the mystery/sun helmet... does that mean its smaller than screen used?

im mostly an ANH man, but ESB boba is definately on my list of one day must haves.

just wonderin.

yes, the wave looks a bit extreme... other than that it screems movie accurate at first glance.

Carefull, once you ge the helmet it is all down hill from there, I will go crazy painting the ESB fett, I am 6 weeks into mine and I am still scared of the back pannels.

Does anyone have an aluminum range finder arm? Actually I need two. The current one I have has drooped from the heat. Boba looks like a dork with his super nicely painted helmet and that droopy RF arm..

Well I would suggest sending a PM to bigkidbiggertoys. He's got some perfect looking rangefinder stalks that he had made from aluminum. Check it out.

Regards,

MJC.

i agree.. bobamaker has great stuff and has got some awesome customer service.

I bought a pair of his knees and when i painted them i noticed a crack in one of them. I told him about this and provided pictures. He imediately offered me a new pair for free. I declined the offer since it was no real big deal on my part. The crak was small and easy to repair. but i did give him the suggestion to reinforce that area for his next customer. If he has or hasn't i don't know but he's a real good guy and ships on time.
