Okay, on a bit of a spending spree.. Just wondering if you guys can offer opinions and links for where I should go to get:

* Indiana Jones Bullwhip..
* Staff of Ra..
* Sankara Stones..

If you want the original maker of the whips that would be David Morgan.
The other items can usually be found in the Junkyard or over at COW.
Lot's of folks make their own stones and there are several tutorials for that.

Thanx guys.. I'm after a opaque version of the Stones.. Don't think I have enough skills yet to make my own, only just starting to make things.. Prefer just to buy.. The whips you mentioned are a little too pricey for me.. I was looking at these, what do you think of them??

Indiana Jones Leather Bullwhip - Indiana Jones Movie Prop Replicas

Staff of Ra Headpiece - Indiana Jones Movie Prop Replicas

I would have jumped on the RelicMaker run, but didn't see it til to late..

Also looking for a good fedora at a reasonable price..

IIRC, those who are sticklers for 100% SA had some problems with that Ra headpiece. The Acme Artifacts headpiece is pretty popular.

Todd's Costumes has a whip that sells for $99 if the Morgan is out of your price range: Todd's Costumes, Props, and Collectibles - IndianaJonesStyleBullwhip

Todd's whip is more of a costume piece. It will not hold up to cracking. If you're looking for a REAL WHIP Delcarpio whips makes kangaroo hide ones EXACTLY like the early 80's Morgans for $600. He learned from David Morgan.

Def. check out Indygear.

With regard to fedoras, tor the best customer service and amazing products, seek John Penman, aka member BendingOak here.

For a great grail diary, PM Sarednab.

He has one that he sells as a costume piece for $70 and a "real" whip for $100. I don't have experience with either, but Todd says that you can crack the pricier one.

I agree about the Acme Artifacts headpiece. I love mine. It's no RelicMaker, but it's pretty good for the price. (I changed the stone to red just for the heck of it.) And I've never regretted shelling out the extra money for my 10 ft. David Morgan either. (I mean...c'mon...who really needs two kidneys anyways?!! That's just being overly-cautious, right? :D)

The $100 whip will not hold up to prolonged cracking either. In the end it is still a costume whip no better than the crappy ones you see in costume shops made of cheap, thin leather. I believe it has a rope for a core. A $30 difference in price doesn't make it a "real" whip. Better to save up and get a real SA whip. You'll be happier with your purchase in the long run rather than buying the inexpensive one and have it fall apart.
Go to the IndyGear site and look up venders. They have several reputable whipmakers that make pretty accurate whips at different price points. I've seen some as low as $450

There is often some debate on whips over at COW.
My line of thinking is you don't need to buy a high-end, professional whip if you don't plan on doing any extensive cracking or to use it in any professional whipcracking events - if you want a display and costume piece, Todd's whips look just superb and will do the job for a low price.
If you're looking for a fedora, again a heavily debated topic on who has the best - fortunately, there are a number of vendors that offer Indy fedoras, varying in price and quality.
As mentioned before, John Penman is the official US seller of the Adventurebilt factory-made hat called the "Henry" but also is an incredibly skilled hatmaker and can hand make any kind of fedora you like - especially an Indy fedora!
If you're serious about getting involved in the hobby of Indiana Jones props and gear, I would highly recommend joining Club Obi-Wan at www.indygear.com

Thanx for the info guys.. I have actually registered over at COW, but was sent an email saying my username MadBeeOtch wasn't allowed.. :lol So I have emailed them to use Beechy McFly, but still hasn't been activated..

I'm looking at props etc, which I am waiting on delivery and being made, but am looking at a Raiders version for my Indy.. Here's what I am looking at:

From Todds:

Indiana Jones Style Shoulder Bag

Indiana Jones Style Weapons Belt

Indiana Jones Style Web Belts - Solid Braww Raiders Brown

Coyle's Indiana Jones Style Gloves - Aged

Indiana Jones Style Pocket Knife

Indiana Jones Style S&W Holster Raiders

Peruvian Temple Sandbag

Coyle's Outdoorsman's Shoe

Indiana Jones Style Belt Whip Holder - Brown

Wested Leather Co..

COMBO Offer LAMB - GOAT Raiders LC Jacket Pants Shirt

Penman Hat co..

The Cairo This is the distressed version..

Northern Whip Co..

Raiders Bullwhip - 8 Foot

Yea, they are kinda UPTIGHT over there. They had a problem with my name too when I tried to join.

The Joe Strain is a good whip to get and fairly accurate from what people have said. Delcarpio whips is in the same price range too.
Why not get a REAL gasmask bag? I've seen them for $40-$50 out there. Other then that the other stuff on your list is pretty good.

I'll take your word for it.

I'm not interested in having a whip, but I am a satisfied customer of Todd's who is just passing along information.

The Noble Collection has the headpiece (plated with 24k gold) for $125...

The Noble collection version is the one in the original post. As I said, I believe some folks had some issues with the accuracy on that one. I don't have quite the eye for that detail (nor the need for a 100% SA piece), so one of these days I'm going to get an Acme.

Here's one of the Club Obi Wan threads on the Noble Collection headpiece: http://indygear.com/cow/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=39819&hilit=noble+collection+headpiece

Hey,

The David Morgan whips are nice, but they are not made to the exact same specification as they were for the movies... For me personally I think if you have the money the Joe Strain Whips are the way to go:

Indy Style Whips

Saying that, there are many other makers out there who make top quality Indiana Jones whips, but it is just my choice that the Joe Strain whips are the best.

As far as the Indy Shoulder bag, you can buy over the net an authentic WWII MkVII Gas Mask Bag, which were the actual type bags used for the movies!!! For more info see:

IndyGear.com: Bag

The Acme Headpiece is a really nice choice and I owned one for years! Or you can get on RelicMakers waiting list for his headpiece should anyone drop out at the last minute... but I believe there might already be a few in line!

For leather belts and bag straps and other stuff, Wade Egan makes some amazing gear!!!

http://web.mac.com/wadeegan/Wadeventure/Adventure_Gear.html

Hope this helps, and feel free to pm me anytime for other prop or gear questions! But once you get on COW all the info you need is there, with a great bunch of very helpful and friendly people!!
