I was surprised the other day to see someone selling some "parts" of the saber on eBay. If it was not a horrible money time for me I would have bought them Looked like he was selling the hand grip parts and the emitter parts (for really good prices). I am no expert but the looked good to me. I hope he is selling more in a few months so I can pick them up - I had the impression he had more to sell.:thumbsup
Yeah, I have that seller bookmarked, and I check in pretty regular, and he does a part or to every month, or so. He's in Germany, I didn't notice, until I saw one of his new actions, has a description in German, (at first I thought it was the typo to end all typo, and then I saw were he was, and figured out that it was German. :lol)
The parts Look pretty good, but the grips look kind of thick. (deep) and I asked him what size pipe they would fight and he said "the diameter must be 35mm (1,38")." My hardware saber is based off a 1.5" chrome sink tube, so it my have a bit of an extra gap between the grips, if I go with his. On the other hand, the grips are the one reason, I haven't done this saber sooner. I just always figured they would be a HUGE pain. Right now I'm thinking of using a cut up piece of "1.5" PVC pipe that fights right over the chrome one, but though that would fight perfectly, I would either have to paint it, or use Mylar, both of witch would not look as good as the grips the German dude is offering. I cam real close to ordering a set off of him, but things are tight for me right now too, and I just figured I would give it a try first, before I spent the extra money, on what I was hopping to keep a very cheep saber.
this has always been one of my favorite sabers, but unlike almost all the other sabers I haven't been able to find this one really cheep, so after years of threataning to do a hardware one, I finally decided to just do it, (If nothing else, I can always sell the hardware version, to help raise money for a real one. :lol)
