Where did this saber premiere?

I've got a beautiful Aurra Sing saber, I'm getting a plaque made for it but I can't seem to find where it originally premiered in this form. I tried Wookiepedia but didn't get a response and I'm hoping someone that read the comics or just knows more about it can help me. Thanks so much.

According to this page from the now-defunct thelightsaber.com:

It came from this comic:

Though I can't say for sure that it was the first appearance of the saber. Could be that it was the first to have decent views of it.

It's a great visual resource for ideas for creating new/custom saber hilts - be it with hardware store parts or on a lathe/mill. There is also another pretty cool resource where you can get various parts for saber builds.


Can never have too many handy references and resources bookmarked. :cool

Many of the saber photos on that site are Luuke's custom sabers made from found parts. They're not exactly accurate or good for much reference. A lot of the artwork is also based on fan interpretation and not official sources.
