When Predator first came out on VHS I remember watching it over and over and over...so much that I almost wore out the tape! When DVD came along, I was impressed with the fact that I could skip to any scene of the movie. So I skipped to all the parts that involved the Predator and skipped over all the human stuff. There isn't that much Predator footage, but it was damn cool to be able to watch what I wanted.
I have purposely waited a few years since the last time I watched the movies. I wanted to be able to watch it later down the road in the same manner as when I first watched it. I figured the only way to do that was to wait at least 3 years.
Today I popped in the first movie and I have quickly forgotten how wonderfully awesome it truly is! I can't picture anyone else other than Arnie that could go toe to toe with the Pred. All of the scenes where I see the Predator...awesome. Pred-Vision...too cool. The sounds he makes sitting in the trees getting ready to heal his wounds...awesome. I am using PowerDVD to reverse and watch the cool scenes over and over until I have them memorized again.
I gotta say that after seeing all the suits on the Lair it has definitely given me a new appreciation for the Hunter. I can't see movement or hear the sounds, but thats what the imagination is for right?!
Watching the movie again rekindles the spark that began it all. When I am done P1 I will move onto P2...
