What's your favorite Next generation/DS9 uniform?

Real, imagined, alternate, whatever. Opinion of the series/movie itself aside.

Also, if you could mix elements, what would you do? Well, obviously you CAN, but you know how nerds can be. :p

Personally I like the DS9 Federation uniform. If I were to mix and match I'd go with the DS9 turtleneck and one of the later semi-formal next-gen jackets. While I"m at it, the badge from Future Imperfect. I really like how they consolidated the rank and insignia and wish they'd have used the design for the series proper.

I love the black and grey First Contact uniforms. They were, really, the only uniforms that I liked from the later series. The season 3-7 TNG ones were all right, though I never understood the purpose of the geometric design on the front. Season 1 and 2 were not good. I also didn't care for the DS9/Voyager versions. Pretty much everything about the FC redesign is my favourite, including the combadge and turtleneck design, as well as the vest.

I always liked the Grey Picard Uniform in season 5. Next is the First Contact Uniforms as well. I will admit when I watched it as a kid I was a fan of Deanna's blue dress uniform. :)

Hated the jumpsuits almost as much as the cast did on TNG.

Loved what they did when they finally settled on the two piece version on that Series.

Oh so comfy!!

Really did'nt care for the early Ds-9 jumpsuits thought it was a lazy way out for the designer.

First Contact, meh, I can take it or leave it, when I first saw it I liked it, but then again thought, "here we go with the jumpsuits again" :rolleyes

One of the fans favorites at Cons was the "Loveboat Uniforms" that were featured on Patrick Stewarts Saturday Night Live appearance.

We made 4 as a joke to wear with white shorts at cons and sold a Boatload of them.

The late DS9 Uniforms were the best.

2 piece external uniform (jacket/pants), colored turtleneck, optional vest. I would modify it so it was a regular like set of pants vs. jumpsuit that is sometimes referred to. Add some pockets on the pants (cargo (cadet) style) and maybe some for the jacket (internal). the 2nd version of the comm Badge, with the rectangle behind. Not a huge fan of the Future Imperfect badge, even though it was a great idea and executed well. For a practicality stand point rank may benefit from being on both sides of the collar. and or adding of a name badge/tape of some type (ala current military).

I really like the Admiral's uniforms and the dress uniforms. the TNG Movie dress uniforms, with the white, were awesome, I think a very "practical/realistic" version.

I'd have to go with the Black and Grey for regular duties, seems much more practical. I plan on one of those when I can get to it. The materials and pattern is in a bag ready to eventually add to my project list.

The white Mess dress is also one of my favorites, almost like my own Summer Mess Dress. I almost bought one at the Star Trek Experience in Vegas but they weren't to my personal taste in construction and then I got lucky and picked up one real cheap from someone who made it for a theater production and had it listed on ebay as just a military jacket with no reference to Trek at all. It was too large for me, but nice material, very well made and fully lined as well. The price was too good to pass up and I have a sewing machine and I'm not afraid to use it.:D I also took an extra set of proper high waisted mess dress pants and modified them with double gold braid stripes and changed the jacket to Commodore Rank. It is my occassional evening wear at Cons when I haven't made something new or specific to drag along. One of these days I have to remember to take a picture of that one.

I lose it every time I see this uniform. Especially this guy; the look on his face is hilarious.

Personally any of Luxwana Troi's Dresses
For a guy any of Quark's outfits
But alas they are not uniforms. I guess I like Beverly's Coat uniform. Its got individuality.

Well William Ware Theiss wasn't a real tailor, he just happened to learn everything by himself, I also liked the First Contact Uniforms, their looking like real uniforms, not like pyjamas in the Season 1/2. Hate the jumpsuits as well. The next would be the Maroon TOS Movie Uniform. I don't like the Insurrection Gala Uniform, they are looking like waitresses.

I wouldn't mix anything together.

Apollo, I'd love to see the whole cast making the SNL joke, that would have made a greater impact…
