What smoothes Klean Klay?

Hi all, I'm nearing the end of an Ood sculpt done in Klean Klay, inspire of my best efforts to make it smooth from the start, there's still alot of imperfections.

I have looked through the net and there are some vague suggestions: alcohol, vegetable oil or water. But before I go ahead and try one I'd like to hear from anyone who does actually know

Thanks

Kleen Klay isn't exactly your typical oil based clay.
Water smooths it down, but you need to practice with it because it doesn't work the same way rubbing alcohol would on say Chavant Oil Clay.

Alcohol will dry out Kleen klay...and as for Mineral Spirits, yuk I always hated that stuff...but I think oils of this sort 'may' also help.

Good luck,
David

moisturizing cream could work well. I used it on NSP and it worked fine. I am no expert with Klean Klay but that may work. :) good luck!

When I work with Kleen Klay, I do the following.......

* scraping tool.
* small rake tool.
* damp kitchen scourer.
* dust it with baby powder.
* paint it.

I asked the same question on the effects lab and was told by the many experts to use vaseline (petroleum jelly). A very light layer!

It worked a treat!

Thanks,

Will have to google that one, never heard of that.

:)

I did a search and it seams that they call them palletes, but they look like this:

Glad I found this as Kleen Klay is nice and cheap for us beginners. I was going to try Monster clay but the cheap stuff is sold out all the time.

I planned on the Vaseline, but as my local shop had ran out, I used water and alot of time. After a few hours it was pretty good, I just dipped my fingers in a cup every nowvand then, so not too much, but it did well for the pod, which works well having some imperfections,

I think if I was doing a mask, I would probably have gone for using the Vaseline too
