What material to use?

I will be working on a project shortly (hopefully) that will involve a lot of panels and some rounded edges. I don't want to you clay and sculpt it because i just don't feel its logical. they may need to be layered, and easy to cut. I was thinking maybe sheets of plastic, because it is strong and should be easy to cut. Metal may prove to be difficult for the tools I will be using, and may end up costing too much. Any similar material that is easy to work with like abs plastic I may be over looking?:confused

What's wrong with just MDF or plywood? Corrugated cardboard is remarkably good for sculpting with the right filler to smooth it out, readily available and almost free.

Not really sure what you're making in terms of size or comparison, but maybe you'll get some ideas.

i thought about plywood, but it will require me painting it, and i don't think the texture will work unless it can be completely smooth, never looked at it for this kind of application, but i'll take another look. corrugated cardboard will not be strong enough. and i need the edges to be smooth, although there is that hard cardboard they use for like clipboards, not sure what it is called though, that may work, if i can find a good amount of it. the pink sheets, do you mean like a styrofoam sheet? thanks for the help.:thumbsup

As Chiok said MDF...

And shellac will be your best friend as a primer for getting a smooth as glass surface even on cut edges with a few coats and sanding...

hmm seems like mdf should work, thanks for the help, will just need to finish up some things first than make some room for this.
