What is your 2016 Prop/Costume To-do list?

I'm planning to scratch build a few "speed paints" from Axel Torvenius, and build a Wolfenstein Luger 60 with a Navy Luger PFC pistol as the base. The design is much larger than an actual luger and it has different design details, but I'm going to move forward using a luger replica as the base because I want this to function and fire PFC caps/blanks.

And I'm also finishing up the props for my short film The Armory. This helmet/visor build is next up on that list.

I need to finish up painting the Almost Human Kennex pistol as well.

And I'll make time for a few Nerf mods in there.

I've put most things on hold for the last 3 weeks while I move to a new place. I'm doing it all myself, except for the heavy stuff I had help with, 95% of it is me. My old place is officially sold and almost vacated. I had moved once before out of my old house to an apt not far from my ex-girls place, but the necessity of the machine shop forced me back... but my father, who owns the house, has a real ***** for selling the last piece of property my grandparents built up and move to Romania. Whatever... I'm not leaving Greece so whatever works for him.

I'm almost completely moved in, with just my CNC left at my old place. I still need to build the CNC housing box that will double as a workbench, the wrap-around work bench, the built-into-the-closet Mini Metal working lathe bench and the shelving throughout the room.

But in the middle of all this, I still managed to get a commission done. I'll update the list when I get moved in and completely set up. There's good news comin... ;)

Bit of an update, ive been gathering parts and pictures to make a T800 arm in a jar. Starting to sculpt parts for casting.

0. Finish Shapeoko upgrade and get everything calibrated and working again.
1. Fallout 4 fusion cell.
2. Fallout 4 Institute pistol.
3. I would like to do a jumpsuit from The Expanse, but I don't see a way to do it in time for Megacon in May. At least not at the pace I do things.
4. Finish my 1:3 scale 4B beta computer from the original Star Trek series.
5. (Added) Remaster and mold Fallout 3 mini-nuke so I can sell them.
My dog had surgery three weeks ago for frequent UTI's so I worked from home to make sure she did not rub her butt on the carpet as a way to scratch the stitches. I also did not work in the garage because with the cone on she would hit stuff. Those two things combined drove me a little stir crazy and I bought 3D printer. I tried printing part of the Fallout 4 fusion cell and it turned out really good so I going to use the printer instead of the Shapeoko. Plus I am in the middle of reinstalling Windows XP on the laptop I use to control the Shapeoko. I think the "get your free upgrade to Windows 10" notice was also designed to degrade the performance of 7.

Finish up ESB Han depending on the Boba Debt DL-44 run before SDCC. Originally wanted to work on Pilot Wedge Antilles for Dragon Con, but I think I'll postpone that until after the convention so I can assemble the cheaper black costume version of Daredevil due to Charlie Cox as a guest. So Wedge will hopefully be done by Rogue One premier, maybe without helmet.

Other fun, more cosplay style costumes: Kurakiba Ryo from Food Wars (Shokugeki no Soma) for Anime Expo, Mumen Rider from One-Punch Man for Anime Expo or SDCC, and Dirk Anger from Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E. for Dragon Con.

Another one to add to the list. Rather than wolverines arm in a jar I decided to go the whole hog and make an entire 1:1 scale wolverine adamantium skeleton. But first..... I have the go ahead to make my very own off limits no access to children honest to goodness MAN CAVE!! ALL MINE.... MWAHAHAHAHAHA. Start it Wednesday and should be done by the weekend. Really looking forward to being able to display some stuff.

Not setting my bar too high.

Finish and do a run of NN-14 blasters in aluminum.
Build and machine Rey inspired staff.
Fiberglass cast X-wing helmet.

I have two costumes I'm currently working on. Both of which are from the 2015 Star Wars Battlefront game, along with some weapon and miscellaneous props to go with them.

Ok, this might be my busiest year yet (which isn't saying much):

- USCM armory and uniform build for Baltimore Comic-Con 2017
- Nick-a-Tron motion tracker
- 3D printed Ghost Trap w/ electronics (via the Tested.com build)
- Graflex 2.0 ESB w/ goth3d crystal chamber and electronics
- Roman Graflex replica, ANH edition
- Finish Anakin Starkillers V2
- ANH, ESB DL-44's from Boba Debt and DEC runs

im sure I will find more to spend my money on

Finally an update!

I completed my ROTJ Boba costume, but still have to tweak some things about it.

Next on the immediate list is to take care of those tweaks and to start on the Kylo costume.

Does Starting halfway through the year start as a "new" year's resolution?

My list is as follows:

Nostromo Flamethrower (Alien '79)
Various paper/hour builds from all walks of science fiction (think "Save the Clocktower" flyer)
I'd like to start work on my Agent Maine armor Complete with Grifshot.
I'd also like to start work on an all-aluminum Baymax Charging Station HTPC, but the cleanup on that is going to be a monster...
So yeah... Goals for 2016!

Getting close to the middle of the year. How are you doing with your list?!? I have made minor updates to mine! I am a bit sad that some of my projects are simply being abandoned, but at least they are no longer hanging over my head!

Here is the prototype for the Predator helmet stands. Simple, heavy and strong!

Moving to a new place and getting my shop all put together took longer than anticipated, but I've managed to get out some commissions and take on a couple more. My personal projects are on hold, while projects I have set up for limited runs (targeting blades among others) are being worked on.

At this moment...

1) Kanan (Blind), from Star Wars Rebels
2) My sister's Rey (Film End Outfit) costume and quarterstaff.
3) Chopper, from Star Wars Rebels. For now it will be a static prop for our convention table, with lights and sounds. Motors will come later.
4) Black Templars Emperor's Champion, from Warhammer 40,000.

I'm sure more will come...

Well, I don't have any of my very small list of objectives done, and as you say, it's halfway through the year...*sigh*

For the rest of 2016 I'm pretty set:

1. Finish my Fallout 4 Nuka Cola blaster (by end of June, hopefully!)
2. Finish my custom Fallout 4-inspired Deadmau5 head (by end of August)
3. Sew/modify jumpsuit into Ghostbusters (2016) costume for my wife (by end of August, hopefully!)
4. Start on my Moonraker laser rifle prop replica (for possible Halloween/ME2con costume?)
5. Start on Coruscant Guard helmet and armor (from Shadows of the Empire) for Celebration 2017

Repaint a werewolf nose & brow appliance for a quick Teen Wolf (85) costume. Also repaint the wolf ears. I got a yellow headband and jersey that I can wear over sweats. He'll be in mid transformation of the wolf you could say since I'm not bothering with tons of hair.

Late to the game as always, but I want to spend the rest of 2016 learning some techniques so that 2017 can be spent making things that won't be embarrassing to show in public :)

1. Learn to work with foam. I'm in progress on this one. First attempt at one of Evil Ted Smith's helmets yesterday.

2. Learn enough about manipulating 3D files on a computer to be dangerous. Probably build a new computer to handle said 3D files.

3. Acquire a 3D printer and learn to use it. In progress, attended a couple of classes at the HexSpace in LA.

4. Stick a fork in the Storm Trooper helmet project I've been messing with for over a year. It's been a way to learn pepakura, fiberglass, and Bondo. In progress. Eventually I'm going to set it on fire and call it battle damaged.

5. Finish Rey's Staff. It's mostly assembled out of wood and 3D printed parts (thanks Gordon!) but needs detail work, paint, and fabric.

6. Try out some mold making using a kit we won at the RPF party.

7. Pick a mega project to do when I finish steps 1-6. I have much to learn!

Finishing up the mold for the Fusion Cell today. I have never worked with MDF for a master and I plan to do a matrix mold, so I think I am going to make a simpler gun for practice. Maybe the Scorpion from Mass Effect 3.
