What hinge is used for the ironman face Plate

Hey guys I wanna make a new helmet for my mark. VII but I want the face plate to flip up is it possible to do with foam or does I have to be a resined helmet and what type of hinge should I be looking for thanks for the help

when i get round to making mine i think i will be trying this way

then i think a couple of servos at the back with piano wire through a tube so it can push pull the faceplate up and down

when this fails which probly will with me :cryi will try other ways

i think if you make the hinges light like out of plastic it could work

buy a mechcano set from some toy shop they're great for playing around and designing stuff like this. and i think you might need to reinforce the foam with something

Yea I say a thread on plastic coating foam pieces so I might try that as well

I'm foregoing the hinge idea and using magnets to hold it in place when open or closed. That will suit my needs fine.

i was thinking the same with the mechcano great stuff xrobots has a good vid on how to harden foam up well worth a watch
