Based on the size, it's probably James Bond's trademark Walther PPK.

It's definitely not the P99 that he uses in the movie.

It's a silenced PPK. The PPK was used in the pre-title (black & white) sequence in the movie as well as a few promotional photos, but the P99 was Bond's gun throughout the film.

The PPK looks to show up again in Quantum of Solace.

Yeah, my understanding is that the PPK is his main handgun in QOS.

And yes, that's a PPK with a small silencer in the photos. There were other promo shots done where he had both a P99 with a big silencer, and a PPk like this one with no silencer.

Well, it was actually the P99 in the opening sequence as well. I don't think the PPK had any screen time in CR at all. Only promo stuff like that poster. It's definitely in QoS though...not sure if the P99 will be in QoS. I've seen him with the PPK, a Sig Sauer (not sure of model) and a 1911 style handgun.

If you want to see all the guns in this and other movies, you can check out imfdb.com I love that site. What a find, I go on there after every other movie I watch.

Silenced PPK. I own a PPK and it has the trademark mag extension/plate. Overall size and blurry lines look like PPK. As for the Omega watch, should be a ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL DATEJUST, like on my wrist. Sorry, I've read every book at least twice and I am a purist. Yes, even the John Gardiner books!
Cheers,
Kevin

I couldn't agree more. I hated it when they stopped using the PPK just to have something more modern. James Bond without a PPK is like Darth Vader without a helmet.

Actually, it makes no sense for a modern Bond to use the PPK unless he picked it up off a corpse. The weapon is 70 years old and a cutting-edge covert Ops guy would not want to be using a 7.62 mm weapon to save his life. This choice is catering to fans that don't really understand firearms. The P99 was actually a much better choice for him, if a little too big for "tuxedo missions."

A lot of folks think the new Walther PPS would be a great replacement arm for him.

I have to agree with not using a PPK for a real world op. Much better out there with more stopping power and reliability. Believe me, I understand firearms and have a lot of experience with them. But this is Bond, not the real world. He could take out 5 bad guys with a potato gun if he had too. I do admit though that I enjoy seeing him use the P99. I do admit a fondness for the PPK, and Bond isn't Bond without it even if it's just a token appearance. I think it is a good choice for a small backup or for the "just in case" tuxedo mission where compactness is an issue. You can't get that with double stack mags. Have to check out the PPS. Not that familiar with it. Just my opinion.
Cheers,
Kevin

In the books, the PPK was his general weapon, one that he could wear out in public. If there was serious business, then he would take a larger weapon, usually an S&W .38. Even now a small weapon like the PPK makes sense, you don't always need a wonder 9, plus they tend to be large and heavy.

David.
