Hi, does anybody have the book cover for "Baby Steps" from the Bill Murray movie What About Bob?
I've searched for it and I think it used to be online but link to it are dead now. Like the below but in higher quality.
thanks for reading.

While not perfect, I managed to do this:

Only the photo is from the image posted by you, and while not all the fonts are the correct one, it is close enough to fool some of you at a first viewing. I might redo the text(s) with better fonts in the near future, but until then, have fun!

Thank you so much for this, it really looks great!
I have managed to find the higher res versions with the wayback machine and the text for the other inlay flap from the original sold prop, if you do decide to tinker with it further. If I had the skills I'd do it myself, I don't.

I corrected the text on the right flap and added a partial text to the left flap (some of the text there is repeated from the right flap). Also corrected the colors for the front cover:

More info from the original artist here ==> Baby Steps… and here ==> Movie Design - DarenDoc’s Slightly Nifty Musings Inc. (you'll have to scroll down a bit).

Edit - reupdated the image with correct-ish fonts.

Managed to finally print the cover on A3+ glossy paper in 2 pieces and glued together with double sided adhesive tape. The book is almost a good fit, but the thickness is not good, so I couldn't close the book with the cover without moving the crease of the inside flaps (which I won't do). I'll have to do my own book in the near future to fit the cover:

The text of this post was taken from my Highlander replica book post (here ==> Highlander) and adapted to this thread.

When in doubt... do your own fake book:

The cover was made of cardboard cut to size and dressed with plain paper glued on with ordinary paper glue stick:

The fake pages were achieved by cutting several pieces of 5mm thick PVC foam boards glued together and on the cardboard cover with superglue:

Then the hard cover was dressed with a copy of the hard cover jacket printed on plain paper:

Note that the first and last pages are actual pages, this way the real book feeling is a great way to fool most people.

And a final shot of the book:

Have fun!

Never say never!

After l finally looked at some screen shots, I noticed that the hard cover was covered in a 2 tone material, possibly paper for blue and textile for red:
Screen 01.png

This led to this (you can see that I replaced the first and last pages with a grayscale version, while the hard cover design is just a reinterpretation of the cover jacket model):
20220803_184653.jpg 20220803_184706.jpg 20220803_184715.jpg 20220803_184722.jpg 20220803_184732.jpg 20220803_184743.jpg 20220803_184756.jpg

And it looks that the red multifaceted star has no black outline:

So, I changed the cover accordingly:

Here is the modified cover jacket and the new hard cover design, but also the first and last pages:

Have fun with these!

Because Bob's t-shirt is equally representative to this movie, I did the huge writing seen on the oversized t-shirt he wears in almost half of the scenes:
Screen 36.png

And the writing with transparent background (there's a thin, white border on the image boundary, but can be easily removed if needed):

The font name is Helvetica Ultra Compressed, but the apostrophes were drawn from scratch (couldn't find a matching one, only pretty close).

I missed this further work you have done on the prop book. It looks great with the hard cover design underneath, I am going to have to modify my book now. I never thought of making a completely fake book. Really great work!
The tshirt is hilarious, I need one of those too.

Just wanted to say big thanks to RafalFett and Wyzzy93 for your contributions to this thread! Made mine today:

Quick and easy, on two pieces of 11"x17" paper, cut and double-sided-taped like above. Look fantastic!

Thanks again,
Bill

Planning to make one of these by getting the cover printed at a shop and using a real hardcover book. Just wondered if anyone has any guidance on the recommended size? Seems to me like a lot of things need to go exactly right as far as the book you use, the thickness of its spine etc. and wondered if there are any recommendations? Thanks friends.
