Two things I've been working on lately, ESB Stunt [Dagobah] and R2D2.

"This is my Eiffel Tower. This is my Rachmaninoff's Third. My Piéta. It's completely elegant, it's bafflingly beautiful" lol. Just finished this morning. I had to make 3 concessions and I made an oops. 1. Wanna only had SH stencils, so I adapted them the best I could. 2. I followed Halliwaxs tutorial on the wind vain but came up short(I'm not unhappy with it). 3. Could not bring myself to bend the emitter. Just can't. But it's a SK gen1 so it has the halo and that's good enough for me. The last thing I did was install the clamp card and was seeing if I wanted to close up the rails and I accidentally put a couple kinks in the rail. Trying to convince myself that it fits with a very beat up saber but there is just something about when you don't mean to weather it, lol. I'm hoping one of you says it adds character, so i will stop obsessing about it,lol. Thank you Scarfman, Halliwax, and Starkiller.

Great question.

I’m using brass c-channel stock with wood screws:

I’m with you regarding sewing…I’ll be asking my wife to use her machine to sew mine.

The original appears to have some slight and unevenly applied weathering (especially on the backside) I went ahead and tried to replicate the same appearance:

I think I’m going to ask my wife to sew it with her machine.

But—I honestly can’t tell how / if the original is sewn.

I can’t see any sewing thread coming through the back to the front side of the ribbon(??).

I think it was originally sewn, but maybe it deteriorated? You can really see it folded in the 4k screen cap

I would like to run I through my mom’s sewing machine, but I don’t know if I could get the foot close enough?

You can hand stitch from the back a carefully only penetrate the back side of the front facing ribbon without going all the way through.
