I almost very nearly bought the Andruil when on sale, but at almost £4000 - eek:eek!!!!!!

I see what you're saying about the handle. From all the pics I've seen, the original looked like that too. Slightly strange-looking pommel.
Plus, with Peter Lyon making it and having every single measurement of the originals he created, I don't see any way that it would be off in terms of dimensions and proportions.
Another thing I think that is making the sword look uncanny is how pristine it is. The thing you see on screen of course has tons of dirt and dents and the like on it, so you can't see all those weird reflections on it that you see on the pristine version. (EDIT: If I were one of the people who got one of these, I wouldn't just order a scabbard and belt to go with it- I'd see if Weta would be willing to distress the sword like the original hero prop as well. Then I'd not only have a replica made by the guy who made the originals, but the finish would actually look like the originals! Here's hoping I have enough funds and that there's one edition number free when they decide to do Glamdring
