Jurassic Park IV Concept Art. These creatures were described as "genetically engineered human-dinosaur-dog hybrids that were also super smart gun-toting mercenaries"

I have a VERY nasty image in my head... Thanks a lot!

Clearly though these guys are carnivores though. You'd have to be REALLY horny to try and get it on with a Velociraptor! :eek

Aparently from what I had heard, the series was originally going to revolve around the perils of genetic science, with dinosaurs being merely an aspect of this, and only in the first entry of the series. But then with the success from the paleo-science community it became increasingly more dinosaur based.

However, I do think they were planning on taking the genetic peril concept even further at a much earlier date. If you recall JP3, there were concept posters for that film that had human embryos and baby skeletons in the logo instead of a dinosaur. So human testing of genetic science was still an option on the table even back then.

I still think its a stupid idea though.... Who the hell would watch it or take it seriously? Sounds like something that damn SyFy channel would make...

The concept is fine I suppose, just not with JP IMO.

I'd watch a movie with that premise. Kinda like the Mario movie! :lol

Someone has been sniffing too much coke. Sorry to say.

If they want that kind of evolution... why not go in this direction. Instead of frothing monsters, then bio-engineer the dinos to near human evolutionary stage and create a new form of intelligence. THAT would be interesting instead of another cheesy monster chase movie.

We already had that kind of monster:

I'm talking smaller body, big head and smart, not big body, small head and dumb as a post.

Frankly, I'm bored with the studios continually making these into chase and monster movies. It's so lame.

It would be far cooler if they'd just stick with the established schtick, DNA preserved in mosquitoes in amber.

Find some new DNA, clone it, have it turn out to be from a surprise sentient dino species that didn't make it into the fossil record.

This is somewhat scientifically plausible and doesn't need to look stupid, unlike a dog/dino/human chimaera. Sigh.
