Weird BTTF Find

So I happened to be browsing the local $1 store and I came across these...

They are labeled tissue paper but they are actually thick pieces of plastic, and I can't believe it but I'm actually debating on wrapping these around fabric and sewing a hat together.

Re: Weird BTTF Pickup

I've bought those before. They're just rolled up, makes it look thick. It's pretty thin stuff, probably mylar. Because it's used in gift wrapping, they just refer to it as tissue paper; regular tissue paper is sold in the exact same packaging. But if you back it with something, it could work, I guess.

No, I actually purchased them. This picture is before I took them out of the package and when I said thick I didn't mean like a sheet of plywood. I just meant that they aren't super thin like a bag from the grocery store. They are actually about as thick as a ziploc bag.

Believe me, I was quite surprised as well. The thickness was the only reason I picked them up. Meanwhile, my girlfriend proceeded to tell me "I love you, I really do, but why the hell are you buying those?"

For $40, you should've just pick up one of the miraj hats.

I don't think running that mylar thru a sewing machine will work very well, but good luck. :)
