Walmart Two-Face Coin Review

Not bad for a promo, its made of metal, has a pretty good ring to it, has weathering on the scratched side (anyone got any new screencaps to see the scratch detail accuracy?) and overall is a nice replica.

Downsides are the obvious, indented "COPY" on it, if it were raised it would be easier to fix. And the lip around the edge is a bit too thick compared to the source coin. They also seem to have remade the text on both sides, its raised alot more than the real coin, and is slightly larger, as well as the font not matching perfectly in some areas.

Re: Walmart Two-Face Coin

Thanks for putting the pics together.
I was very curious about the Wallyworld coin.

I wonder if it is a lost cause to fix the "copy".
Filler perhaps? Making it match the rest of the coin sounds like it would be really tough.

Re: Walmart Two-Face Coin

yeah it would be hard, especially since that clean side almost has a vertical brushed reflextion to it, trying to fill that in seamlessly would be incredibly hard. The annoying part is it almost looks like it was done later, because its slightly indented in a rectangle around the words, like ti was stamped into it.

I wonder if any "freaks" without the stamp will make it past QC. Might be worth looking through them in the store.

Re: Walmart Two-Face Coin

it's not bad looking. And you can always display it with the COPY side down. Or damaged side up depending on your POV.

Only problem there is that they are displayed in the box with the clean side down so no way to know until you open it. Would it be possible to fill it with some kind of liquid metal?

Eh...

If only I liked the movie!

So far, I've only been able to enjoy the animated stuff. Still haven't gotten it right as far live-action Batman is concerned... :sick

Okay...help me understand something. The folks that are talking about how horrible this movie was, why are you even looking at this thread. I mean, you DO know what this thread is about by the title, don't you? You DO know that it's for people who are intrested in BUYING the movie, don't you? So why would even view this thread. Or more important, why POST in this thread? I'm just trying to understand. :confused

On Topic: Thanks for the review. I'm a little upset that they decided to include the Two-Face coin with the bare-bones edition, & not with the 2-disc Special Edition (which is the one I'm gonna have to have). Oh well, I have the PTK coin anyway... :thumbsup

I think if you did manage that, you would have to paint the entire coin over to match the color, correct??

Man, that COPY and the large rim are major turn offs. Couple that with the need for black "burning" on the back, and I just don't have the time. :lol

That's a cool promotion piece, and lets face it, for about 75% of those who are going to be getting one, they'll think it's the greatest replica out there. For those of "us", well, we already have one of Pete's replicas! :lol

I think they were legally obligated to differentiate the replica coin from the real thing (not the prop). Who knows what an enterprising criminal might do with it?

And I know what you mean about the premiums being bundled with the single disc editions... They did that on the "Clone Wars" release too. Looks like it's Wal Mart's way of sticking it to us 'cause they know folks like us want the bonus material AND the replica/collectible. Fargin bastages!

some screencaps for reference. Yup the scratched side changes quite a bit, so im not sure theres a definitive version out there to replicate.
