Visitor Costume

Good afternoon everyone. I thought since I am a new member here I would post some pics of the Visitor costume from the TV series "V" I made a few years back. I wore it to several conventions, and it has been seen by Robert Englund, Marc Singer and the lady who played the fleet commander in the second miniseries (can't remember her name). All have commented on how good it looked.

Not bad at all. I'm hoping to eventually have a complete Shock Trooper.

Oh, and the Fleet Commander from VTFB was played by:
Sarah Douglas (Pamela). She also played Ursa in Superman 2.

I met Sarah Douglas at a local con. i showed up in costume and she said it looked really good. She is very lovely to talk to.

Making the costume was very time-consuming. I put my old VHS copy on our 56" projection screen and watched Martin try to open the Bridge doors over and over until I got all the details. The vest is three layers with black on the inside and the gauntlets are the same. I thought about making a black vest to go as a shocktrooper, but after breaking several needles and burning the motor out of a sewing machine, I vowed never to do a major costume like that again. I got five years out of it before it started to fall apart.

I kept my oath and did an easy Spaceballs costume for Gencon this year, but I am currently breaking my oath as I work on a Londo Mollari costume for either Comicon or Dragoncon next year.
