Anybody familiar with the "Visionaries" - Knights of the Magical Light?
Would like to ask if anyone knows how we can make the armors which features animals in hologram. Any suggestions on how we can make the hologram?

hehe. going old school eh. :rolleyes

yeah the armor yes , the holo no..for the size it would be excessively expensive. Might be easier to buy a car flat screen Tv and do it that way

It would cost a lot for a costume, but an iPad (or knockoff) would be light enough and the battery would last long enough for convention wear.

First off, AWESOME!!!!!!!!! I love this idea.

Now, there are places online that will make custom holograms but everything I've found to date has been in the obscene cost level. That being said, have you ever thought about a lenticular display? those are the pictures that change two or three times as you walk around it. They are much much cheaper and if you buy the lens sheet there are programs that will split up and mesh together your pics to make your own.

i dont remember the cartoon to well i remember having the toys hope this works out for ya id love to see a build up of a costume from this

Love what you guys do, Izabel! This would be a brilliant idea for a project, and I have to agree that lenticular is the way to go. Now, I have the theme song playing in my head. Thanks!

hehehe. thanks guys. really thinking about it. well if ever we can't find a decent way to do a hologram we'll just probably modify it like make it lighted or something. hehe.

also, if anyone has complete pictures/references (both for Spectral Knight & Darkling Lords) kindly post them so i can start collecting and we'll think about how or when we'll do this for cosplay.

I'll also scout for people to make a group for this. :rolleyes

cool idea, but i would have to agree with the others, a hologram will be pretty expensive, i have a superman hologram about the size of a bond paper, quite pricey, plus the hologram effect will show up properly if a spotlight aimed at it from certain angle, otherwise the effect wont be as spectacular, and of course the number of knights are quite many :lol, have you considered this instead?

this cartoon was aired during the same time as the visionaries, and it only involves three good guys and fewer villains. :lol

Actually, making small holograms is easier than you'd think, particularly now higher power lasers are so readily available. I made small holograms in my bathroom using a 5 mW Helium-Neon laser with a home-made power supply about 20 years ago. Large ones would probably need some quite specialised optics, but shouldn't be impossible.

Of course since you'd need to make your reference model first anyway, it might prove simpler to fake it by casting the model in clear resin and lighting it with coloured LEDs.

we might just make it lighted.probably use acetates or some material we can find.

anybody who has the images of the images of the animals? each one? :$

is this the centurions? :lol

That does sound like fun. Lucky,

there arent many here, maybe 3 a year I think?

yeah. that's what i heard. here it's like there's once every month. and sometimes others organize mini-cosplay competitions so there are options. Come October for Halloween, there are like more than 5 cosplay competitions so cosplayers have to choose where to go. and luckily win because competition got smaller. :lol

I remember Visionaries very well...I'm sure I've still got a VHS of it somewhere.

Looking forward to seeing how your armour comes out
