Hello there.
Just putting it out there that I managed to get hold of some early Armitage Shanks Starlite handwheels a couple of weeks ago.
They’re in various conditions ranging from very good (A), to pretty beat up (D).
Here is a description of each one:
Handwheel A is in very good condition for its age. Plating is intact and there are no scratches. It has a cold *C* cap which has all but one of its tabs intact. The blue indices have some whitening, which is common, particularly for the blue ones. I can include a brand new replica blue ring.
Handwheel B is also in very good condition. Plating is intact and there are no scratches. It has a Hot *H* cap. The cap is missing all but three of its tabs. This is the only real damage to this one. The red ring on this one is in excellent condition.
Handwheel C has started to show its age and does have some damage to the plating in places. Personally, I quite like it. It has a Cold *C* cap which is missing all but 1 of its tabs. There is some minor damage to the plating on the cap too. The blue indices have some whitening, which is common, particularly for the blue ones. This one will be supplied with replica cubes, replica cap (cold) and replica blue ring!
Handwheel D is the one that is in the worst condition. There is some significant, but interesting damage to the chrome plating. The cap on this one has lost all of it’s tabs and has some speckling (but no flaking/scratches). The red ring on this one is also in excellent condition. This one will be supplied with replica cubes, replica cap (cold) and replica blue ring!
Due to their condition, C and D will be supplied with a brand-new replica cap and ring from my Obi Wan run. I did not make a replica of the *H* cap, so a blue ring and replica *C* cap will be supplied. The replica cap is an early prototype, so has mould markings on its underside (removed from later versions). These can’t be seen when installed.
C and D will also be supplied with replica cube sections that are pre-drilled:
These are my very last two, otherwise I would have supplied with all four. I figured they are needed more with C and D.
Here are the prices I had in mind:
Please get in touch if you’re interested in purchasing B, C or D.
Thanks for looking.
All the best,
Dave
