Does anyone have any clear images of Ford Prefect's electronic thumb from the 2005 Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? Not his ring, but rather the small black, red, and blue palm device.

I would be immensely gratified.

Unfortunately, the "electronic thumb device" in the 2005 film IS the ring. What you described by color is actually what's referred to as the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, other wise known simply as "the Guide".

i think he is on about the device ford uses in the pub black body and a blue cube comes out with a red band
and that a guess from memory
so the colour maybe off:confused

I believe that is referred to in the books as the "Sub-Etha Sens-O-Matic" - basically a spaceship detector.

IIRC the sub-ether sens-o-matic was built into the guide. Actually, I always figured the little black box was a creation by D Adams for the screenplay. I described it the way I did hoping someone would get the idea, and someone did.
