VH-1 Classic will be changing to Mtv-Classic on August 1st

Last night mtv classic had the same documentary about Deep Purple and the history of heavy metal that they ran every 2 days as VH1 classic. Neither of which were very good so they're playing the worst of mtv and vh1 lol

A true bit of irony, a friends tv show was on Mtv back in the day, Austin Stories. It was cancelled after one season for not having anything to do with music. true story. Its such a sour spot for Mtv that its not been re-ran or released to home video under the guise the music in the series would have to be relicensed (Miami Vice was in licensing hell for many years due to music licensing). Howie himself funded and released the series on DVD.

This channel is a disaster, it can't decide what it wants to be. VH1 classic was more MTV-like than this train wreck. Didn't MTV basically purge all employees over 35 at one point?
