Vertically Challenged Kylo Ren

Hello,
I am currently in the planning stages of my Kylo Ren costume. I was wondering if anyone knows of any good source for his boots? I also would like a boot I can add height to. I was thinking of doing a 2" heel and lifts. I am 5'5" and Adam Driver is 6'3" so I have a significant height problem. Any and all tips to add 5" or so of height would help me greatly.

Do what I did for my Vader. Get a pair of boots about two sizes too large. Have a cobbler build up the heels to 2". Then add 2" elevator lifts to the inside of the boots. This will give you 4" in lift without the "Frankenstein" look to your footwear. The oversize boots will give you room enough for the lifts. The lifts will not work in boots that are your regular size. Your foot is being lifted upward and it will have no room to do so.

And bear in mind that the higher the lifts, the more unstable they are. It's easy to turn an ankle if you get to active. I wouldn't recommend dueling in them. Been there, done that. ;)

As for boot sources, I have seen acceptable boots on ebay.

Not sure what your price range is, but if you look up Giovanni on the Knights of Ren facebook group, he makes some very nice boots (though they are not cheap). I messaged him about something like this and he said he would be able to get me 3" added if necessary.

MaskMaker: Do you by chance have a recommended company to go threw for the lifts? Or does the company not really matter?

Vida: I was thinking of going with Giovanni. His boots look amazing. I hope I will be able to make enough funds to afford them this year. I'll be sure to message him about pricing for my size and height.

Deserthunter: Thanks for the tip! At the current time I may just have to go this route for v1.

Hi, brand new to these forums, registered because I saw your thread and was interested in an update.

I'm also 5'5" and had an amazing time at my first cosplay event recently as Kylo Ren, but wanted to increase my height in some way to make the costume more convincing. Any help would be appreciated! I have the black series helmet and am looking at buying the force fx saber, so now need the boots with lifts...

also add a little more foam to the top of helmet so it sits higher on your head, then tilt it downward so you can still see. not at a super obvious height and angle, but this what I do with my stormtrooper helmets. it also aids when turning your head the tubes don't rub on the shoulder armor

Nice idea! I'm hoping to hit around 5'9" for a more convincing Kylo Ren. I've got my eye on 2inch insole lifts with 2inch boot soles. The helmet will give the illusion of a bit more height too I expect. I'd love a Stormtrooper or Boba Fett outfit though, don't think I have the skills or funds
