Van Helsing (peter cushing) need help identifying clothes

hi all.

Im working of a bust of Peter Cushing as van helsing from the old hammer horror movies.

Im struggling to identify the clothing though.

the gloves and scarf are easy but can anyone identify the type of coat or hat that he is wearing?

At first, i thought the hat was a standard bowler hat but it is flat at the top rather that domed.

anyone got any insight?

Well you pretty much looking at either Edwardian or Victorian clothing.
I'd say it's in all likelyhood a frock coat with fur collar.
I'll get back to you on the hat. Someone will probably beat me to it.
Where's Wuher when you need him lol.

it might be whats known as a Turf Hat. This was a style of top hat from the early mid 1800's. Can't fing many examples of it on line though.

thats nothing more than a regular homburg. its not flat on top, its got a little bit of a dent.
