Vader captures from Clapperboard show

Yesterday I managed to get hold of a copy of a show called Clapperboard from 1980.
There's an interview with Tony Daniels and Dave Prowse (Where he says he's 6.6) there's not a huge amount of notable stuff in it but it's still very cool.
There are a couple of Vader costume shots which are quite nice.
Here are a couple of screen grabs.

Great pics.

What's Prowse talking about whilst he's pointing to the helmet?
[/b]

"This is where my face was..." :lol

Where was the show filmed? It looks like the Death Star walls in the background.

Prowse mentions the stunt helmet with the perspex neck.
I believe the show was shot in a department store in London called Selfridges which was running an exhibition at the time.
The chestbox is an Empire version.
More pics;

Wooah - what saber is THAT?

It's looks like a Graflex with the top and midband painted black to resemble the Vader saber...one red button remaining and either the glass eye or a hole where the glass eye should be. WTF?

It actually looks like the clamp has been replaced with something else entirely... :confused

Whatever it is, I like it. :)
Cool pics.

You know we strive so hard to get our stuff to look movie accurate, and look at that thing. Its beat to hell and back. Those belt boxes have paint peeling off of them. Amazing.

Movado

Thanks for those pics.
Good eye, Chris.

The belt boxes in those photos seem to show a metal bezel around the red lights and also seem to show a beveled black bezel around the green lights. Any opinions on this?
Thanks.

"As you can see the helmet is completely black..."

Yeah, something is wrong with that clamp. You can see the Graflex upper half of the tube's locking slots that are supposed to be UNDER the clamp. Interesting. Kind of makes you wonder if there is a bottom half of the saber in this picture.

As I said on another forum, thanks for sharing and I said what Chris did about the ESB chestbox and the ESB "Stunt" belt being used.

Guys we now got new guidelines as far as cannon Darth Vader suit :p

Its incredibl how much Star Wars material that comes forward in th daylight.
Its still much hidden or forgotten i belive.
I want to belive and say that people like us on the forum are proboably a great importance to finding material like this. People are dedicated. Without RPF members and other dedicated replica prop people i doubt we whould have known all of this. I belive Star Wars is the best documented movie to this date.
