Vader belt box rods

I was reading the archived vader thread, and Im a little confused on something. The six aluminum buttons, are those machined, or are they just allenhead bolds with the holes bondoed? I want to upgrade my rubies boxes, and I knew I read something somwhere about allenhead bolts. Or did Darth Jones just mean that the costume on the 12 inch vader toy box used those bolts? I would love to just be able to zip off to the hardware store and get 12 bolts for like a buck instead of shelling out who knows how much for die cut aluminum rods.

There were no allenhead bolts used on any OT screen used version of vader.
On ESB and ROTJ, they were aluminum rods.

Russ makes a very nice set of ANH rods, you could try asking him if he had any currently available.
