2 diff questions actually.

1: does the rubies costume mask suck? (i.e. bent/messed up, piece of crap)

2: ive seen these full costumes pop up on a few places ranging from 50 bucks to 150 (for the super extra special shiny hyper cool version), and was wondering if anyone had seen any of these actually in person.

ive been thinking of picking one up just as a display piece since ive wanted a mask for a long time, and i have a mannequin sorta standing here in a V like pose anyway.

so..... anyone?

I have the deluxe mask, wig, and hat set. The mask is actually pretty decent for vac formed plastic. Pretty good replica. The wig wasn't great so I ordered a Peggy Sue wig from a costume shop. The hat is alright. Looks like a pilgrim hat or soemthing that was slightly modified. The brim isn't wide enough nor is it tall enough.

The non-deluxe set comes with a EVA hat instead of felt and looks pretty crap-tacular.

Haven't seen the full costume though, sorry.

whats an EVA hat?

im glad to hear good things about the mask. im thinking of doing up a display like in the comics with the old style mannequin head with the wig, and the mask on a seperate hanger (for me).

thinking of getting one of the masks for the girlfriend (who is a HUGE v fan).

i was thinking, if that super duper deluxe costume was pretty good, i would get it to put on the mannequin. itd make a nice display but rubies has a history of "good looking promo shot" and "holy ***** what happened to it?" reality :)

whats an EVA hat?[/b]

EVA is a very lightweight foam rubber that is being used to make playmats for children, as well. It usually comes in bright colors, and just the thought of V using an EVA hat makes me cringe, so craptacular it is....

ah, its sponge.

kinda like the leatherish gloves they put out for the rubies vader. shiny, neat, but not really nice looking...

Yeah.. I've seen pics of the Rubies. It's definitely craptacular. Like most things they put out. Like most costumes, the V is definitely one that requires some effort and cash to complete.

ONly good thing I can say is that the mask isn't comletely horrid.

so no one is making a mask that is better than the cheapy Rubies but not as high as the DC big $$ mask?

there are a couple ebay dealers that offer them, but I'm seriously thinking about making my own, molded to my face for comfort. That Rubies kinda hurt.

bump cause i wanna snag one still, and i have no idea if someone had a good comparison between the high end, deluxe, grand heritage, ultra deluxe, etc or if someone just had an idea what patterns were used for the actual costume.
