Using "Swag" in props

Stuff We All Get (S.W.A.G.)

I go to a lot of trade shows and end up with bags of cheap crap. However, a lot of the stuff has blinking lights or electronics. Even greeting cards have cool sounds recorders.

Has anyone used this kind of stuff in their props?

I've seen those greeting card recorders used before. They're so small they have unlimited uses. I'm just not sure on if the batteries were replaceable or not.
