Update: Solo Elite Edition just arrived!

I don't like it at all. The pristine version looks artificial. It's the Britney Spears of the prop world. This prop must be weathered. It must look authentic and beat up. MR did a good job. Too good. The soul is gone. I'm no fan of this blaster. I'm a big fan of MR in general though. So please don't come with the usual MR bashing innuendo.

Wow, Mr. Bigshot. Who do you think you are? You think I'm worth less because I have a low post count? I'm worth less because I registered 4 years after you? You don't know me, you have no idea. I don't know you and I'm sure as hell don't want to know you either. Climb down from your high horse Mr. I am better than you. Perhaps you need to get laid?

Seriously. Get.Off.My.Back. If I think this blaster is an attempt to milk money from the collectors I'm perfectly allowed to say that. My opinion is my opinion. You don't have to agree. But there is no need to try to make it look like I'm worth less just because of my opinion. Go away.

Mine arrived early 397 / 1250 :unsure now if my Falcon SE would arrive :p

I will add it to my Harrison Ford / Han Solo collection, and yes I do have his Bespin & ROTJ blasters too :D :D

Chill out, PropMeUp. Your cartoon was insulting to me as the thread starter, since you evidently think I made a stupid purchase. You don't like the blaster? Good for you. A noob with a tude... :lol Just ban him now :rolleyes

The pics look great. Can't wait for mine to arrive.

I'm still very tempted to weather mine a bit, if I can get up the nerve. :)

Nothing from DHL yet. I ordered 2.

If I can keep both, I might weather one and keep the other as shipped.

Originally, I was hoping to hold on to the extra one for a few months and then sell it. If the resale gets to the same range as the original MR solo blasters, waiting a few months and selling the second would cover the cost of buying the first.

Cheers,
Christopher

My original plan was also to get two and weather one. Finances dictated otherwise... and honestly I'm not unhappy about that. Too much other stuff going on this time of year, let alone all the other MR releases coming out now.

As for your other idea of selling it for a profit later... all I can say is Good Luck. Considering that it's still for sale at MR all these months later, I wouldn't think the demand is all that high right now. I'm not saying it won't happen, but a few months is pretty optimistic. I'd guess years. "Investing" in MR is not what it used to be.

EDIT: Of course, you CAN invest in MR the old fashioned way. CRGI is at a market low.

I ordered the second one by mistake. When I realized what I had done, I tried to be optimistic and justify to the misses why it would be a good idea to hold on to it. Unfortunately, I think I am in the same boat with the holidays. IÂ’m a contractor. December is a short month. I may have to send the second one back.

Do you think more units will move once they open the sale up to buyers outside the collectorÂ’s society? Will they open the sale up to buyers outside the collectorÂ’s society?

Christopher

Congrats to the folks that ordered one and received. Looks pretty nice. For whatever its worth, I'm ready for MR to offer the ROTJ version and I'm all ready to order.

Ooooh.... that's the interesting question. And a whole other topic. I'm going to leave this one alone for now. :lol

(yes, should it happen, they could probably sell the rest of the blasters)

Interesting idea, while I agree that this would allow them to potentially sell out their remaining stock a lot quicker, I imagine it would also tick off a lot of people who paid for their membership and the right to purchase "exclusive" editions like this one--and a lot of people who bought the earlier LE blaster are already ticked about this EE prop. So their options would seem to be to make even more people mad and release this to the general public or let it sell out in its own time. MR items generally seem to take a while to recoup their value so I would guess they'll let it ride (although they're not EE editions they've still got AT-ATs, Snowspeeders and some other blasters that have been around for a while). Still, lets keep showing them when they arrive..

Stay frosty,

Dave C

:) I was wondering if maybe they'll have that one planned for the 30th Anniversary? They've done, or are doing, all three sabers for Luke and Darth Vader so it would stand to reason (maybe a Greedo killer too?).

I know, but it ticked me off a bit as it insinuated to me that me and other buyers are sucking off the MR "cash cow" teat by buying this item.

And was right on the money :D. You can relax Betamin, I truly mean this as no reflection on you.

I know. :) It just bugs me to start a thread and have someone pop in and post crap that is unnecessary. Guess I'm just grumpy in my old age. :D

Sorry Betamin. I truly am. My intention was not to offend you. It's a good looking blaster. Too good if you ask me. Personally I prefer a beat up version. If you're happy with it I'm happy for you.

Seriously though. I won't back down on my previous opinion about MR squeezing us for our last penny by releasing this version of the blaster. MR make great props. I should know. I own a bunch of their stuff, including the original Han Solo blaster. But surely we must be allowed to criticize a giant like MR when they "deserve" it? Or are they a "holy cow"?

Quite honestly... aren't we all suckers (yours truly included) purchasing toys with hefty price tags just to put them in a book case? That's at least what my wife tells me. :)

Once again, sorry if my picture offended you. It was not my intention. My intention wasn't to offend MR either. I just wanted to stir the pot a little. ;)

Easy chap. Ban me now? For what? For voicing my opinion? You're tripping boy, get real. :lol

Just because I have a low post count and registered late doesn't mean that I'm a noob. You know nothing so please don't assume anything. I've been into props long enough. Perhaps not as long as you. Perhaps longer. Who knows?

Chill down and enjoy the festive season. I wish that Santa will give you the ability to accept other people and their opinions. Back in the days you would probably have been one of those shouting "burn the witch" when the town elders found out that a woman healed the sick with herbs. Take it easy please. :)

Thanks, Prop. Sorry if I got testy, I'm just a cantankerous s.o.b. at times. :p And I understand your feelings with MR, I was ticked off when I saw this blaster was being made, as I have the original LE edition and wasn't happy to see another one popping up from the same company. But, I'm getting one anyway, so I guess I'm a sucker. :D
