Underworld Death Dealer Armour

Has anyone attempted to recreate the Death Dealer Armour from Underworld Evolution? I'm specifically looking for the helmet.

I thought about buying from the company that made the armour for the movie, but what they're offering on their website isn't screen accurate.

Zeppo,
I have a screen used helmet. Its not the same as the ones they offer now.

General - I'm not sure. I know the owner operators of the Armoury that made the stuff, and sometimes their business practices baffle me. I would think they would have been able to sell more of the suits if they were screen accurate. The only reason I can think of that they aren't, is maybe they're prevented from doing so as a part of their contract...but who knows.

JP05 - I'm very jealous. I want one of the helmets so bad, but I'm not willing to accept the inaccuracies. I'm guessing your helmet is one of the generic Death Dealer helmets, and not one of the Elder ones.

But you're right, the replica and screen used helmets are not the same, and the armour is different as well.

Replica helmet sold by the armoury:

The shape of the front "wings" is different, the embossed celtic knot is replaced with a flame pattern, and the ear medallions are missing.

The embossed celtic knotwork has all be replaced by the flame pattern. The Embossing on the guantlets is different. The shape of gorget is slightly different - no biggie, but the interior collar lames are missing. The movie breastplate didn't have have that seam at the midpoint, and the Death Dealers in the movie didn't have greaves or sabotons...or chainmail :)

Yeah. Definitely a copyright issue. Now I can see why I get so many inquiries about this item.

Do you currently have any plans to do a recreation of the helmet or armour?

Due to commitments to other projects, we haven't been able to work on anything that isn't commissioned work. Also, we're not currently set up to do heavy smithing work, so we would only be able to do it in resin/plastic/fiberglass at the moment.

The screen used one? Really? That's hilarious, I pulled it off of an auction listing for the helmet - lol

You got a hell of a good deal on the helmet, and again I'm jealous. I've been scouring the net trying to find ones that are being sold or auctioned...of course I found yours after the auction ended.

I guess that answers my question about it being a generic Death Dealer helmet, and not an Elder one :)

I'm guessing no one knows where a fella might get either a screen used helmet, or an accurate copy then.

As you'll notice, the Elder helmets are more elaborate than the generic Death Dealer helmets

I also have some of JP05's pics, but I don't want to repost them without his permission :)

All 3 ofthe Elder helmets were pretty much the same, with the exception of the initial on the ear medallion.

V for Victor
M for Marcus
A for Amelia

The Death Dealers have a symbol made up of all 3 intials

Victor's helmet also has an extra ribbed piece at the end of his nose guard that's not on Marcus' helmet

I'm not sure about Amelia's helmet, as I don't have a good close up of hers, but I know none of the Death Dealer helmets I've seen have that extra piece.

I have one...

From everything I've seen, this could be done as a multi-piece casting with metallic powder finished resin, and a horse tail plume. Lots of sculpting, but certainly not impossible to do it without a forge, and still have it look close to the original.

Sweet. So it looks like both Victor and Amelia have that extra piece on the nose guard. Wonder why Marcus doesn't.

As near as I can tell, the helmet is made from 6 seperate pieces.

There's the base helmet that has all the ribbing on it, which is made from the 2 sides and welded together.

Then there's the piece that the cheeks, the eye holes, and the banding around the back are made from. It's likely two pieces, welded together, filed down abd buffed to get rid of the seams.

Then there's the nose guard, and the horn thingy for the plume.

Finally there's the plume itself, but I didn't count that in my number figure :)

All of the stuff for the movie was hand hammered, with no forging involved. The company that made it doesn't forge any of their stuff, due largley to the fact that they don't have a forge :)

And most of that raised/depressed detail was probably made with a Fluting Press...

I definitely know all of the edging was done with one. As for the ribbing on the main body of the helmet and the embossed knotwork, the ribbing was likely done that way as well, but I know for sure the knotwork was hand hammered though.
